'12 GA RB Mike Davis (USCe commit)

I would have loved to hear that conversation. If anyone knows the real situation at SCar it's CJG. He can give Davis that honest evaluation on each schools pros and cons. He can counteract whatever Davis was fed during his visit. Hopefully, Davis listened to CJG and isn't just going through the motion. I wonder how solid this commitment is? I know they are telling him, he's the heir apparent. But, instead of waiting to be the man there, he can come here and be the man now.

They are going to keep fighting to sign Davis to the bitter end. I still don't like our chances though. I hope Miramar is right and CJG can make a difference.

No 24/7 subscription, but here's something from a USCe Rivals article today:
Another running backs coach who is a familiar name to Gamecock fans visited with Davis recently as well, Tennessee's Jay Graham. What was his message to Davis?

"He was just telling me I would be a great fit for that program, that they need a good running back," he said.

Davis reiterated how close he is with recruiter of Lorenzo Ward, who actually garnered a silent pledge from the Georgia back shortly after he decommitted from Florida late last year.
He also added that he likes the new RB coach (Everette Sands), that he may visit Clemson, and that he is 100% committed to South Carolina.

Says clemson and UT are still recruiting him since he committed, but other schools have backed off. When asked if playing time was enough to keep the Vols in the hunt he said that he "cant really say" right now because he is committed to usc. says his relationship with graham is pretty strong. also says he is considering a trip to clemson.

Tennessee is not totally dead in the water here yet, Davis talks to cjg very often.

I see you are back to the scary avatar, lol

Switching it was bad mojo. After a hectic week, we made some great hires (IMO), got some top flight recruits, etc. I change the avatar and take a night off only to find CLT is leaving?! Not that I am too miffed by that, but better to be safe than sorry for us supersticious folks. This avatar believe it or not, has 9 wins for 2012 behind it...
