It's funny. The Gators took the best kicker in GA, and The Bulldogs took the best kicker in Florida.

Maybe, but UF took the best kicker in the nation, too, at least according to a recruiting site solely for kickers, punters, and long-snappers.

Kohl's Kicking has him ranked #1; he kicked a 59-yard game winner in high school and just won the Southern Showcase in May.

UGA used up 2 schollies on kickers this year; pretty unusual.

Georgia, Alabama, and Florida State all plan to use 2 scholarships on kickers this year.:loco:

Oh, well. We can get a walk-on kicker. The scholly is better spent on a DL or LB.

Next year we will probably look at using a scholarship on a kicker so we can give him a redshirt year to improve his game, but this year we have more pressing needs.

As it turned out, Palardy could have used a redshirt year to do strength and conditioning work as well as refining his fundamentals a bit. Hopefully Darr has benefited from his year in purgatory and will be fully ready to meet our needs and expectations this year.
