Offered by LSU and USF on Tuesday. Has received 4 overall offers this week. GT is obviously will be the team to beat, but it is encouraging to see us still being mentioned among his top schools.

"Right now I talk to Georgia Tech the most and Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia are also right up there," he said. "My family is pretty open to me doing whatever I want to do so location isn't going to be an issue. I just have a lot to learn about some of the new schools that have offered like LSU."

Wow. That is a crazy number of offers for it being this early. And from all the elite schools from coast to coast. If you all do end up signing him that would be a great addittion. Article I read said he was a big fan of Keith Brooking when he was at GT. I'm sure he was also impressed by what Derrick Morgan did at DE for GT. Hope we can stay in this one till the end.

He grew up a big GT fan...you can see that by looking at his pictures. Doesn't mean he's a lock for GT though.

Spent all day Thursday visiting GT and talking to the coaching staff. Also wants to major in broadcoast journalism or communications. GT doesn't have a dedicated program for either. Doubt that has any impact in his decision. Currently has more than 30 offers and plans to "trim" list to 20 schools in the next few weeks.

Watkins is now sitting at an unbelievable 34 offers. He picked up his most recent offer last Friday from Virginia Tech and was also offered by Ole Miss and Florida State last week. The talented DE is again reiterating that he will be trimming his list very soon. He stated in his most recent article that VT would make his first cut and I would just about guarantee GT will be in there as well. I would like to see UT in the final list as well. IMO UT will be.

"I'm starting to narrow it a bit," he said. "I'm thinking 15 to 20 in the upcoming weeks and then 10 when the season starts."
