'12 GA CB Geno Smith

Auburn leads here. No question. I just hope Geno doesn't get in a situation where he will not be able to play in bowl games and play for a bad team due to scholarship losses. He is a good kid and talented and deserves better.

Besides, Auburn getting Holsey just means it will be more difficult for him to see the field, but it's his decision and he will have to live with it.

Sab, i haven't followed this thread lately, but I thought for a while you were saying UT lead. What happened?

I noticed Sab likes to correspond with Geno on his twitter. Perhaps Geno fed him sunshine to please his fandom and Sab ran with it. Sometimes recruits like to say things to make facebook/twitter stalkers happy...another good reason to not take that stuff seriously.

Geno said at one point that UT led. Then it was Bama/UT co-leaders and then Auburn after his visit there with UT/Bama in second. This is all true. His leaders changed. My relationship with Geno is based on more than just internet talk. FWIW. He's a friend of a friend and has become a friend. I wish him well and will be rooting him on wherever he goes.

geno on vols

GenoSmith:
Evan: Tennessee ... the whole Rocky Top thing ... it got me from the beginning when I went there for a game. I love the atmosphere down there.

Are you planning on attending any camps this summer. If so, where at?

He also says he is real close to Holsey and that competition isn't a factor.

GenoSmith: Drew: I'm at 6-foot, 176 .... my last 40 time was 4.42

GenoSmith: Rocco22: I love corner. But I prefer to play safety because I like being in run support.

Would you be enrolling early?

Did we not learn a lesson after the whole Gabe Wright drama last year?

Geno may very well leave the state. If that happens, my money is on Bama.

I don't think it's a matter of "if" and if it isn't Tennessee, I say Auburn. At this point I could see it being Auburn, Bama or UT and Geno is leaning towards Auburn. Anything can happen after he visits schools this summer though. Could completely change.

I agree with you that Bama will be a major factor. But I don't think he's going to UGA. I know he's cooled (like a lot of in state players) on UGA a lot.

With him saying he really prefers safety i can see Auburn selling him on being their starting safety and Holsey being a starting CB, which would be tough for anyone to beat with Holsey already on board.

Keep an eye out for the summer "unofficial" visits. The top 5 will change.

REMEMBER THIS POST!
And remember mine from 2 months ago when I told you UGA was not going to be a factor.

It very well may change, but it still will not include Georgia. You guys are deluding yourselves.

I did not say anything about UGA.

Lets just say that there will be many fanbases upset after Geno signs his LOI. Geno will probably have 5 different fanbases excited about signing him. I'm not worried about it one bit. The whole thing will be very fun to watch play out.

Geno knows the deal with UGA. If he chooses to go out of state then good luck to him and I would wish him nothing but the best.

UGA got MM and Swann last year they should be fine taking a under the radar type.

CORRECT.

Swann, Mitchell, and Marshall holding it down at CB. I would take Geno in a heartbeat but I don't think it will hurt us if we miss on him. There's also other quality CB's out there in this class that are taking a serious look at us.

If you are insinuating that he is being less than honest with his top 5, I hate to tell you, but I know for absolute fact you are wrong.

With that said, his top 5 may change somewhat and it wouldn't surprise me. But all this talk about him playing the game is WAY overblown.

Remember this post. lol

UGA and Black Pawn

I would love for you to respond to the thread about SEC numbers for signing classes on here.

UGA, I would also love to have you respond over in the football forum to the post talking about how UT matches up with Georgia in the fall. I want to know what you think your record will be going into the game.
