atxvol...Let's say you had a son that very highly recruited by BCS schools, and he started taking his visits..On one of those visits he gets into to trouble, and a negative light is shed on him and all these schools quit recruiting him..Then all of a sudden school X emerges and decides to give him a shot after talks with you and your son and tons of research...How would you like it if school X has second thoughts and turns him away because they don't want to mess with him b/c of his transgressions?? And don't tell me that your son would know better b/c I'm sure Mr.Bonner's mom said the same thing and looked what happen..I'm sure she is thrilled that we are willing to give this young man a second chance b/c everybody deserves that..If he messes up, then Dooley will deal with it just like he has everything else.

CDD is here to rebuild and get this program turned around and sometimes you have to take a risk..Sometimes it's worth a risk and sometimes it's not, but I have a feeling this time that it is worth it this time..If CDD didn't think it wasn't worth the risk, then he probably wouldn't have even given Bonner a second thought.

You are covered by the First Amendment, one of the great things about being an American. Definitely not moving on, offering this kid is a massive disappointment and more people should stand up for what is right and not for doing whatever it takes to make our football program better.

For what is right? I thought forgiving someone of their actions was a good thing. Supporting the kid when a lot of the other Universities turned their back to him is a good thing. Everyone on this board has done something stupid in their life especially at 16-17 yearls old. Also you have never actually talked to him, all of the vols coaches have , they must feel the kid is worth the risk. Will he stay out of trouble and be a good student/athlete? i dont know and neither do you, but passing judgement , not giving him a chance, those are the WRONG things to do.

Pity party? Learn to use words adults use. For the sake of our program? I have every right to bash Dooley and this kid under the First Amendment, especially since we are one of the few high profile D1 schools still recruiting this kid.

Let's see who else is? Petrino and Arkansas, well we all know about Petrino's lack of morals and character. Oklahoma, another great ethical institution.

Let's get serious guys. Most of you could give a rat's ass about this kid's growth as a person and only want to see our football team succeed. A lot of people are not foreseeing possible future criminal conduct and problems down the line. What this kid did was stupid on so many levels, our school should not in anyway shape or form be offering him a scholarship and I am adamantly against it.

Again, as this issue has been labored in this thread already, you are not in any position to judge this kids character at this point in time. You are not the coach or anyone on staff who is paid to do so. CDD has made it a point to make this program clean and full of high character guys. What evidence do you have to prove that he isn't carrying out that initiative?

Our program gets better by getting the best available talent. Let the coaches worry about handling a recruits character.

Its for sure that Bonner wants to come here. The only hold up would be that CDD would not accept his commitment.

Could be that CDD has some work to do, with both himself and the university administration. Wouldn't Coach have to plead Bonner's case to get him admitted?

You are an intelligent poster who clearly follows recruiting very closely and who is good at piecing information together in order to make predictions and offer valuable insight...I also belive that you know a person or two that are connected in some way so occasionally you offer more than what could be read elsewhere...

Honestly...if you weren't such a jerk sometimes I think you'd be one of the most valued posters in this furum

That's pretty fair. I can have a sharp tongue sometimes. Touche.

gah this kid gets bashed the first 5 or 6 pages of this thread. That being said, kids make mistakes he will be a star for UT. Happy to have him. GBO

What other schools were actively pursuing him after his incident at UGA? Were we the only one seriously going for him? Anyone know?

Some of you perfect people need to get a life and move on. The KID make a mistake. Our coaches feel that he has learned from the mistake and life will go on. Take Bonner and make him a VOL FOR LIFE. Jesus Christ forgives everyday. Why can't we???

Amen! I have just added several people to my ignore list, even though I don't like to use that function. I try to value everyones opinion because I would like for them to do the same for me. But I found myself getting angry as I read some of the posts in this thread. I cannot stand when someone acts like the never made a mistake that they wish they could take back. I know I personally have, and those who are being honest with themselves know they have too. If you learn from your mistakes they can have a positive impact on the rest of your life. Or you can chose to learn nothing and more than likely end up making a similar mistake. But it is not our job as outsiders looking in on the situation to cast stones. None of us know the young man personally, nor do we know his feelings about the situation. I'm sure he has talked to the coaches and if they feel he has bettered himself then I chose to trust them and wish the young man the best of luck.

None of the Major services are showing him as a commit

TOS just said that perhaps Bonner gave his commitment to Sunseri last night, not to Dooley, and so he thought he was committed. But until he talks with Dooley face to face, there will be no decision on him one way or the other.

Darick just tweeted that his wallet got jacked. Seriously.

Bonner?

Incorrect. He tweeted at Rod Wilkes, and no I'm not joking, that he needed to come pick up his wallet from him before going to the mall with Naz Oliver. Wilkes has it, probably just left it in his room by accident. Nothing to see here.
