It's a Ripley's-like wax figure in a museum - not what I would call a monument. They are recently recognized players that all UT fans enjoyed watching. I expect to see an EB one soon if it's not already in there.

Still a sculpture none the less. Peyton's was put up to immortalize his legend then Tee up and wins an NC. Race comes into play and streets and "sculptures" appear. Now its just for those 'we enjoyed seeing play'. Well where in the hell is Holloway and Streaters cause those cats were entertaining as hell.. it may be passed off as "those we enjoyed watching play" now but trust me that wasn't the initial intent. They jumped the gun with Manning and it bit em in the behind. We are gonna run out of streets soon if the enjoyment factor is the criteria..well on second thought maybe not unless Poole is the real deal.

I see your point, I just had a different take on it. They have them in the complex where they entertain recruits and fans bring their kids. They have them as a subtle recruiting tool. Having a wax figure of Peyton Manning means more to Johnny Highschooler than one of the Sylva Streak.

OK, this will be the only permanent outdoor statue.

The wax figures of Manning and Tee Martin were taken down several years ago from the indoor museum and not replaced.

They were going to put up a statue of Kiffin, but the Knoxville Council for Civic Decency wouldn't allow a 5'10" phallus.
