I've seen him a couple of times at the cookout on campus and he LOOKS a little shorter than I thought he'd be. Now I'm not gonna start that convo because yes Drew Breese is short and blah blah blah. Can't wait to see him on the field. Hopefully he grows about 2 inches taller over the next year.

Dep - Nate had a good scrimmage tonight. Was 5-8 for 81 yards. Worley got a lot of the first team snaps and put up 228 yards coming in for a fake injury of Bray. So Nate would have been working with the 2's.

Probably shouldn't have blown Worley's redshirt. I don't think he was ready.

He will be though.

We didn't burn his redshirt. He gave us the best chance to win last year. I'm glad we have a backup QB with SEC experience...we don't need 5 years from Worley with Peterman on board.

People writing off worley are nuts

Not writing him off but as was mentioned earlier Peterman is the best QB talent wise we have had in a long time and you can tell he is very mature and intelligent. High football IQ has been mentioned with him. No knock on Worley but...

Yup. There's a reason he got a ton of snaps in the last scrimmage. The coaches are depending on him to be the back-up.

Peterman is the future.

Exactly. The Coach's know that and im betting they want to RS him, so if Bray does come back he could start his RS soph year vs Worley being a SR.

Lots of love for Peterman who hasn't even thrown a pass in a game yet. Pump the breaks. He is going to be good, but no sense in building him as the next PM just yet. I remember everyone saying the same thing about Crompton.

Haven't heard anyone compare him to Peyton. They are 2 different types of QB. Plus Peterman has a fewbetter things Cromptonand didnt. High football IQ and has been mentioned to be a great leader. 2 things Peyton has and Crompton didnt. Peterman will be a great QB and face for UT football.

Hi all,
I'm new to Tennessee football because of Nate Peterman. Was looking for a way to follow his progress and found this site.

I have watched Nate since Pop Warner in 7th grade. You have a wonderful young man in Nate, as I am sure many of you have found out. His Pop Warner coach told me he felt Nate was D1 material way back then. He had a gun of an arm, and absolutely loved the game. What I have found to be most impressive is how hard he works. He did not have much speed back then, but every year he worked hard at it and improved tremendously. You cannot question his toughness-- he tries to run over or through everything in sight. He studies the game and is very smart. He may not be the most athletically gifted of your quarterbacks, but what he lacks he makes up in heart.

His first few high school games as a freshman were up and down--a good throw downfield followed by an interception. By his senior year, the mistakes were down to almost none.

Someone earlier last year in this thread mentioned the Flagler Palm Coast spring game. I was there, and Nate played that game to near perfection. I'm not sure he missed any passes. The receivers dropped a few, but he was nearly flawless. His senior year played out that way too. I'm amazed that so many of the so-called pundits who ranked the quarterbacks in HS didn't see Nate's performances as among the best in the country. I have a feeling Nate will end up 4 years from now mentioned almost in the same breath as PM.

I look forward to watching Vols football for the next 4 years.

Welcome to the board! Go Vols!

Nathan Peterman -- The freshman signal caller who enrolled early has continued his progress from the spring and has had a solid camp as he continues to learn the offense. There are plenty of places for him to improve. but he's shown well in his first eight months on campus. Peterman has good head for the game and has thrown the ball well.
