'12 FL QB Nathan Peterman (UT signee)

After losing in the semi finals last week, Bama offered Nathan. I guess hanging 400 yards on the #1 D in the state caught their attention. However, 2 things stood out to the offer.

1: Bama spent more time nega-recruiting us to the family than selling their own. Mistake.
2. Nathan REALLY likes Knoxville and the staff. He's solid and not going anywhere.

I think we should be very happy with Peterman and call it a day. Peterman is a very talented young man with one of the highest ceilings in this class.

Sorry if this question has been brought up already (didn't want to scroll through 20 pages to see). Do we stand a chance, and would we consider taking the Pitt commit Chad Voytik from Cleveland, TN, now that the Pitt coach pulled a Kiffin and ran off in the middle of the night?

Is he better than Peterman? I'd think the staff has some loyalty to Peterman, because he has been so firmly committed, but would we take both?

if we take a 2nd QB it will be Gunner Keil. Someone saw him getting lunch and a sandwich shop in Knoxville, and while standing in line waiting to order, talked with Gunner and reported that he'll probably be coming to school here.

I'm not but i know someone who is. He knows i'm a vol fan and keeps me up to speed.

Not 100% on this, but I think he may have Pitt ties.

The only time I've seen him in town, he was wearing a Pirates hat. He was camped out in front of GameStop for about 8 hours waiting on MW3. He was there at 4pm when I payed mine off. He was in the same spot at 12 in a camping chair waiting. Dude really likes Call of Duty.

I think they'll try as best they can to redshirt him. They tried that with Worley and it didn't work out. Luckily, this year, they have Worley as the backup instead of the #3. It won't be a shock if he has to come in as a seasoned Sophomore.

How they practice is they use three QBs. The #1 gets most of the snaps, but they'll give a bunch to the #2. They give some to the #3, but when you're the #3 it gets hard to mentally prepare for one play here and one play there. That was what got Worley before he was promoted to #2 then #1.

But if I was Tyler Bray, I'd be in my playbook and in the film room like crazy. He's got two guys now with FBS talent behind him. The whole QB scene gets a lot better once there's somebody capable of taking your job.

It's just gonna be nice that even though he could play this year, he doesn't have to play this year. QB is a hard thing to learn. This is probably my favorite recruit, and probably the least thought about of this class.

Thanks d3ft. Yeah I agree though. It's much better when there isn't pressure on the freshman to step in and play. I think it'll really benefit Nathan to learn and develop as a QB on campus and get eased into the role. Trial by fire isn't the best method to develop QBs. It's usually only done out of necessity.
