u can not be that silly...
those coaches know more defense and evaluate talent better than justin damn wilcox.
go back look at who butch and zooker put in the nfl and then re-think your comment.
I agree. They both are better talent evaluators than Wilcox. Wilcox was terrible at recuiting and recognizing talent.
And I am very familiar with Zook and Davis' previous work. They have put some guys in the NFL for sure. Especially Davis.
But that wasn't the point I was making at all. Well, first of all Butch Davis didn't coach anywhere last season. And he was fired from UNC in June or July. I don't know when UNC apparently offered this Bynum prospect, but if it was anytime after that it wasn't Davis offering.
Anyway, my point was they both are currently unemployed. Meaning, they both weren't really living up to their coaching expectations at their respective schools (which aren't prestigious football colleges anyway). Illinios hadn't done much of anything under Zook and he got fired for it. Same with Davis pretty much. Yes, he did beat UT while at UNC, but UNC still wasn't doing anything on a national level.
Yeah Zook and Davis had previously coached and evaluated some great talent in the past. But that was when they were at Florida or Miami. They weren't attracting the same athletes to Illinois or UNC. So what I am ultimately saying is Zook and Davis offering Bynum means nothing to me. Yeah, they offered and evaluated great talent in the past, but it is different now and they knew that. They would have never offered this kid to play while they were coaching in their primes @ UF or UM. Getting an offer from UNC or Illinois means nothing to me, but the Bynum kid can play at a middle level ACC or middle level Big-10 school. No matter the coach.
Can you kind of understand where I'm coming from? Sorry for the extra long post.
