Definitely a take. As has been mentioned countless times, this is a no-lose situation for Tennessee. So you may end up with 24 qualified in this class instead of 25. Big deal. It's better taking a chance on a talent like this than taking a guy late just to fill the class like they've done in recent years with guys like Ryan Clark, Martaze Jackson, Crump, etc. If it doesn't work out then you have the scholly available for next year, much better than it being tied up for 4-5 years on a guy who will never contribute.

Good point, and I agree. Why fill the last spot with a guy that is just going to get recruited over in 2 years and will transfer?

I would much rather take a top talent that is an academic risk that either gets in and makes an impact or doesn't get in right off the bat.

We used to have a Cocker Spaniel named Amos, he was a mean sob. He shattered his leg jumping off a rock wall while chasing a cat. When he got back home from the vet with a cast on his leg, he went right back after the cat. We actually had to put him to sleep because he nipped at two joggers. Sorry for the nostalgia, back to Leggett.

Absolutely, if you have the talent, you can make the NFL from any program. But the spotlight is much brighter in the SEC, thus it is easier to make it into the league from UT than from Marshall.

Id wager that your chances at a higher draft pick are better in the SEC than Marshall. No questions from NFL teams as to whether you can compete against the best. I have no stats to back that up, but it would make sense.

I wasn't referring to the ability for them to get into those terrific academic institutions (LOL). I was referring to their ability to get them past the NCAA clearing house which can be a helluva lot tougher.
