'12 CO QB Cyler Miles

or maybe they learned a lesson from wright and dawson.

I think its more that than anything. Nothing wrong with continuing to offer until one committs. Plus if he does committ to us and changes his mind theres always that chance we have offered and developed a relationship with other QB's who may still be interested if something does happen. We arent in desperate need of a QB, especially since we seem to be in good shape with Prinz and Bolin next year but you should always take a QB every year and I think thats what they are doing. If we dont get one it wont be from lack of trying or offering. Bray was way way down the list and wasnt found till late and after we had been turned down so you never know whos going to develop and blow up their SR year. There is always some that do.

Or it's a backup plan if Miles goes elsewhere.

Doubtful. 99% of the time you aren't getting a prospect that is making a decision in a few weeks that has never even visited your campus. I'm just curious to see who Miles is going to choose, none of his finalists that seem to have a legit shot are overly impressive programs and none of them really have a better situation than Tennessee does either. I will laugh if he picks Illinois. They have nobody on their staff that can remotely coach and develop QB's like Chaney. Just look at how Juice Williams regressed up there.

Yeah, but Dawson was a completely different situation than Miles. This is how you recruit QBs.

I still say Miles ends up in Washington.

Hope im wrong but I think he ends up at LSU..Not much QB competition there and they will compete every year, unlike Washington. But again hope if its not UT then its Washington. LSU would be the best all around situation.

He will not end up at LSU. He has yet to see LSU and the last I heard isn't planning on seeing them. When a QB sets an announcement date it is because he has decided on a school. LSU came in way late and Miles wants to stay on the West Coast.

He may or may not but I find it odd he dropped Colorado when they got their 4 star committ and Washington already has a 4 star committed. Who in their right mind would want yo go to Washington even if Sark is a great coach. If we wants to stay on the west coast I guess that's his school.

He has contacted the LSU staff and is trying to set up a visit soon. It may push his decision date back. Winston will be in BR this weekend and Alford will be in town for the Bayou Picnic. Both are likely MLB bound though.

FTR the connection he has to Les Miles is that Miles was the Oline Coach when his father was the RB at Colorado.

Miles said Colorado is on the back now and he is also looking at Florida and LSU.

Per scout

Does on the back mean like back burner? Sounds to me he is eliminating Colorado or am I misunderstanding the quote?

Did he take a visit to LSU recently or something?

I would be shocked if he picked a school that he's never visited.

I would too, Montrell. He hasn't visited anywhere in the SEC yet and announces Friday. I say it's smoke.

Oh yeah I think it is too. These kids love to throw the casual fan off their trail as much as possible. I never put any stock into things like this that they tend to say.
