"Derious, he's a huge Tennessee fan. We actually grew up in Knoxville and Nashville. We lived all around and some in Memphis," Mitchell said. "I moved to Alabama, so all my memories are vague."

"The biggest thing that stuck out to me was how everything was, like the stadium and the campus and the nice things that they have and they're building even better things. Another thing that caught me was the programs they have there, like the VFL and the student aid," Mitchell said.

With Mitchell's brother a Tennessee fan, Mitchell joked that his brother has almost pulled the trigger for him a few times. But, when it comes to his decision, Mitchell said his brother is looking out for his best interest.

"On a couple of occasions he said he's going to tell coach Thompson that I'm committed," Mitchell said laughing. "But, no he's not pushing me. He's trying to do what's best for me and we do research together and we look at these colleges together. But, him being a Tennessee fan does play a factor."

Sounds like we may have a legit shot here. Where does he stack up amongst the other LBs we are recruiting? I assume we may take up to 2 more.

Thompson and Sirmon have been doing an excellent job in recruiting here recently. Mitchell would be an excellent addition to our LB corps if we can get him here.

HE needs to listen to his brother and come join the Big Orange. Would be a great get at a position of need.

Could you imagine if we could pull of Santos and Mitchell to end LB recruiting? Also, we are still in the mix for Dawson and Neal as well. Great job, especially by Sirmon.

Couldn't agree more, tvols75, Sirmon is doing a terrific job!

Dawson's headed elsewhere, IMO. His Top 3 remain Clemson, Louisville, & UNC.

We will be in it til the end due to his dad. I agree he is probably headed elsewhere though.

A BAMR recruiting expert. Wow. Every kid who sees those programs (BAMA or Auburn) as the cheating scum they are .... "doesnt have a committable offer from them" how fvkkin funny. Its the only response these neighborhood, self-acclaimed recruiting experts know

This is without a doubt the kind of talent and athlete at Linebacker Tennessee needs to get back to the top.

If we can finish with two out of Mitchell, Neal, and Santos the staff has done their job at adding quality depth to the position

Probably Auburn. They only have 1 LB committed so far.

We need to hope Auburn gets the NCAA stinger soon.
