Just seems like there are fewer top notch DTs every year and EVERY school hungers for them. I gotta believe thats why we have such a hard time.

I don't have Scout but on Vol Quest they said his top three in order is FSU, Auburn, and Tennessee. Bama was in the mix but have fallen down for some reason. My guess would be they have better prospects on the hook or they are running out of room. Also read on VQ that we have a tie to Shanks on staff. Demarco McNeil is his cousin.

Edie Goldman, Danny O'Brien, Tyler Nero, Dalvin Tomlinson and Daniel McCullers are higher on the board for Bama..if they miss on a few guys Shanks could get a chance.

You are correct except for Nero, while Nero is a great prospect, he has no position in a 3-4. If Bama takes Nero, Bama has lost on a few others.

I've watched nearly every game Justin has played in since 10th grade. This kid dominates and is a "must get" for us. He could easily start as a true freshman. Prattville plays St. Thomas Aquinas I think on ESPNU in late August if you want to get a first hand look at him.

If CLT will get his tail down here and let him know how bad we need a DT, I think we have a very good chance to get him. He'll have a long wait at UA, not so long at AU, and can start immediately at UT. I'm going to make an effort myself to get in his ear.

All I know is that it appears UT is flying up his list of schools. He's changed his leader recently so you know that he is still wide open and doesn't have an exact idea of where he wants to play.

Shanks with his size a must get for AU as well.
With Jeffrey Whitaker/Kenneth Carter starting and Angelo Blackson/Gabe Wright rotating in Shanks would get needed experience his freshman year by beating out one of the backups. :)
