'12 AL DT Justin Shanks

I think that Washimgton was the second GT player from Wetumpka. Did a lineman go there a few years back named Castro?

they have had some very good athletes at QB the last several years (Smith, Gibson, and Thomas), just not that polish passing type QB.

Smith was a very good HS QB but these latest guys can't throw 35 yards. Losing to that Fla. team(STA I think) pissed me off. It was all due to not having a real QB. They could've beat them by at least 14 with a QB.

Per Michael Langston Twitter.

Just confirmed that Prattville, Ala. DT Justin Shanks will visit the #VOLS this weekend and #FSU next weekend (Jan 20).

Feel the same way. But I value Shanks much more. Dude is a freaking giant.

Shanks is beastly, but Jernigan was so explosive and plays with great leverage. Plus, we could really have used another DT with a little experience for this year rather than a freshman. Based on roster need alone, I'd say missing on Jernigan/Wright was pretty huge.

I told you guys we had a good shot. If anybody out there could possibly turn its Justin. He likes FSU but he likes to play football more. Justin has never sat on the bench in his life and doesnt intend to. FSU would put him on the bench and UT would put him on the field with rock star status.

That is the positive attitude I need this offseason. My goodness, hopefully he feels the same way. Especially if we have a DC and everything in line by the time he gets here, and the other D recruits that we need to lock up too.

Justin will be an 18 yr old freshman in college. He has been revered as the God of Thunder (so to speak) his entire life and most recently at Prattville. He IS PHS football! I just dont see him going from "Superstar" to "just another football player " when he can continue to be God of Thunder at UT in on the biggest stage and in the best conference. Its a no brainer...I truly hope he sees it!

Can someone help me out here?

Really hope to hear that he is his visit. That would only help our chances a ton. Hope Sunseri can pull this one out.
