Anybody heard anything about the Samsung Galaxy tablet? Thought about getting my wife one. She won't get a smart phone but likes games and music. Was looking at the Kindle fire but saw that the Samsung has a camera.

They're nice! I played with one at Verizon the other day...really nice screen and really fast! Especially with their 4G service...

Is it worth it to go through a carrier and pay a monthly data plan?

att requires a $35 monthly data plan for 2 yrs or buy in without a contract and pay $30 a month. Either way, that's kinda high.

Is she going to leave the house and need it for Internet access? No data plan for my iPad since it is used at home.

I doubt she would "need" it. Especially for 35 a month. Prob use it mostly at home anyway.
