What is the layman/old man's version of a torrent?

Well first you need to download a torrent program, I use BitTorrent but any you download are good. Then you go to a torrent site like piratebay.org. And search for all kinds of movies,games and music and download that for free. In other words a torrent is file sharing.

Napster style so that is why I just download files that have good feedback. Almost all my songs in my iTunes are from torrents. Saved a ton of money and the file is pretty good quality most of the time.

If you start doing it make sure you bookmark the site cause they are regularly changes their names.
