Looking at this with some perspective you have proven coaches at A&M, Bama, Georgia. And really a lot of stability at Kentucky with Stoops. We’re so close in ranking to Kentucky it’s not really like there’s a talent disparity.

Exactly

I’m definitely a homer……however I don’t see how Tennessee could be doing much better at all.

They have made the most of what’s been handed to them (which wasn’t much)….. however they dlet with it and have made progress on the field, and in recruiting.

So if I understand what you are saying, while recruiting is important it is not the only thing that is important. Coaching can make a difference. Because if it was only about Jims and Joes Ga would have won the NC the last 3 years. Not so Smart does less with more talent than just about any coach I can think of.

Georgia didn't lose to Alabama because of a disparity in the talent levels between the teams.

LOL been wondering where you've been! Did all the positivity finally get to you? Ya just couldn't help but crawl out of your bearded hole to take a big orange dump on all this positive momentum! So ridiculous 😂

I've got more rent-free space than I can shake a stick at, but thanks for the offer.

Given the state of our program when Coach Heupel and Staff arrived, their achievements are on the high end of what we could have reasonably hoped to see. Sure top five is better, but not in the cards for us, this year. A well coached, top fifteen recruiting class can play football at a high level. They all seem to be players with good abilities and attitudes, who will contribute to a good team. I think we had a good day!

And both will still be pointless unless we close the gap with the top of the SEC.

I agree with you. That has nothing to do with negavol thinking. Negavol thinking to my mind is being satisfied with 9 and 10 win seasons and no NCs. If you're a true VFL, you expect to take down UF, UGA, and Bama rather regularly. If we don't recruit with them it's going to be difficult to beat them.

To further break it down it is

Alabama, Georgia, Texas A & M

Then a dead heat for 4th in the conference -
Tenn, Ky, Miss, Aub, SC

Not a bad place to be - vs where we were last year with a 3 win team.
We need to slide in right behind the big 3 next year in recruiting and ahead of the middle of the pack crew.
Exactly, outside of the 3 you mentioned plus tOSU, it’s pretty much a toss up.
GBO!!
