'11 TN TE Cameron Clear- UT Signee

So we have room for Richardson, Clear, Jernigan, Dawson, Moore, Maggitt, Fulse, Wright, and Johnson as those are the guys we have a punchers chance at still landing. That is good news, I was under the impression we were in a numbers crunch.

No worries Vols!! We can sign 40!!

Realistically, we have done very well if we get five or six of them. Thats a huge percentage. And yes we have room for that many. I think that adds up to a max of 29..... Not 40..... :)

I think he means that the Thomases and Youngs of the world would be asked to look around. Don't know if this is accurate but it's my translation.

If we get up to six of the nine high profile names thrown around here, we have room. Are people really thinking every single remaining kid goes our way?

Listed his 3 finalist as Tennessee, Alabama and Duke, and is announcing his decision on Feb. 3, the day after signing day.

Replaced Auburn with Duke and canceled his scheduled visit to Auburn this weekend.

He will stay in town this weekend to visit Memphis’ campus rather than traveling to Auburn. "He said the crosstown trip basically will be just for fun."

Thanks for the info! Apprecaite it :hi:

First I believe Clear will sign with UT. I do not think we have room for him. We just told X Ward we would only grayshirt him if he would come because we were full on the OL. Now maybe Clear is announcing of Thursday to wait and see if we get Cyrus because he is who we are waiting on.

The TE we have commited got a season ending injury and might end up grayshirting. So technically we need a healthly TE to come in.

The problem with that guess is that Clear does not want to play OL.

I have never understood the point of silent commits. It serves no purpose other than allowing the recruit to put on a show later. A commit can only help the program when they announce so why wait.

Again it does not matter he will officially announce for the Vols next week.

there are too many reason to list. Doesnt want to take heat from people wanting him to go somewhere else, coaches dont want to scare off other players, etc. I dont know if there is a legit reason in this case, but that doesnt mean there isnt one.

Biggest and most common reason is to have some big time prospects announce on NSD. Looks good to have lots of big names put on the orange hat on national TV.

I agree, I don't like the silent commit thing either but I guess these kids want to get their moment in the spot light. It is what it is though.

I disagree with the assumptions...and I'm not singling you out 1orange...that these kids are just milking the spotlights. I think in many cases, it is very difficult for them to tell a coach who they have built a relationship over a couple of years that they are going elsewhere to play college football. All of us working stiffs know plenty of co-workers, managers or supervisors who try to give everyone the answer they are looking for...we often want to avoid confrontations or to disappoint someone...it's human nature.

RT @iAm_Cam901 My press conference will tomorow and uma sign wed. Final decision!

He was originally supposed to sign Thursday.

Maybe CDD informed him that spots were running out. Glad to see the young man wants to be a Vol and I think he will be a good one at TE or OT in the future.
