He is a great football player no doubt but he has no interest in UT and we dont have too much in him. If we had more scholarships to give i would say give him a chance but not this year. Also though you can bash his competition too much cause I go to Bearden and our football team is not that good without him. Our O line is not good at all some of them are only 5'9 230. SO he does alot of work on his own and that is from his speed trust me he is fast track kids said he finished 2nd in state last year in the 100m. by the way Carson Newman has apparently offered im not sure if thats true.
"It definitely has been frustrating," Young said. "It's like what else do I have to do? I'm one of those people that think everything happens for a reasons. Although it's extremely frustrating, it will all work itself out. I'm not worried about it."
"He told me to keep doing what I'm doing," Young said. "He said not to worry about the rest and just go have fun. I like coach Dooley a lot. He is a lot like my high school coach (Brad Taylor). He's just a really professional guy and he is very thorough. He is very honest. I felt like I was more built than he expected. He told me I looked pretty stout."
While Young is yet to receive an offer, they did talk about that possibility and how they would use the dynamic athlete if that day ever became reality.
"They told me I'd have the ball in my hands," Young said. "They told me they would put me in the slot and get in me in space on bubble screens. They said they would use me to return kicks and just be a playmaker."
Carlos says Dooley just called and offered him and Devrin will commit later today.
Very surprising.
I think Young can be a good return man.
If Young is willing to be a gadget play guy and a great return man, he's worth a scholarship IMO.
Do I think he'll hold up carrying the ball 15 times a game in the SEC? No.
Do I think he can flip the field with a couple of returns? Yes.
If he can play CB or get in 10 plays a game on offense, so be it.
Look at Brandon James or Javier Arenas. Both were lightly recruited and neither did much other than returns until they were juniors or seniors.
