11 TN RB/CB Devrin Young - UT Signee

"I haven't talked to any (Tennessee) coaches, besides going to a game," Young said. "I haven't gotten any letters from them. I've been invited to a few games. That's about it.
"I'm really not that interested in Tennessee at all. They haven't been interested in me, so there's really nothing there."

Local kid looks as though he has some interest from some major D-I programs

Isn't there already a thread for this kid?

In any case, kind of reminds me a little of Dexter McCluster.

Hopefully that will change with the new staff. This kid needs to be wearing orange next year!!!

Still is kind of mind boggling that Kiffin wanted to lock down the state, yet he doesn't even want a top prospect who is just a drive down Kingston Pike away from UT's campus.

It really is. Hopefully Dooley and staff take advantage of the home town talent. I'm definitely looking forwards to going to see a couple of his games next season.

I'm confident that CDD will be able to get all the top talent in Tennessee, I mean he was able to convince James Stone a top instate product to come to Tennessee. Go Vols.

He was able to get Stone, mainly because his fondness for CLK is about as high as my fondness for waking up with fat chicks in bed next to me in a drunken stupor.

Stone didn't like CLK, he chose UT because of Dooley's Integrity and leadership.

There are probably quite a few prospects and their parents that CLF and O rubbed the wrong way. They are great recruiters but theyare going to miss on some good ones because of their tactics in recruiting.

I saw tape of this guy the other day. He's quick and can create some space. A definate playmaker. He's small though. But don't always count those guys out.

The kid looks like a solid player. Of course his size is what is keeping the Vols from offering. At 5'6 and160 lbs, 4.5 is good. There are alot of backs around the country that run 4.5 or better at 6'0.....at 200lbs and would obviously be stronger. I think Young would be worth an offer to start showing the local kids the door to UT is open if you perform on the field.

I am very close with a young man that went to Bearden and his whole family actually. He just signed with Tusculum. He is close with D Young and I asked him recently about him playing at UT. He said he would love to, but at the time x was still our coach and he said that he hadn't received any contact from them. They didn't seem very interested in his tape either. At the time, he was liking all the attention he was getting from Stanford. So I asked again Wednesday night about him and he said that D Young would give the new coaches a chance. He understands that it wasn't their fault that x wasn't going after him.

Pretty solid kid. I think if we show any interest at all he would love to play for us.

his style remind me of ole David Meggitt(spelling?) former Ny Giants RB..I'd take him....very good athlete and one of those that could end up bleeding orange and play with heart

This. a smallish scrappy back .

Well, he is small. Harbaugh must think hes pretty good, he has an offer from Stanford. And he's probably smart enough to not try robbing anyone with a bb gun. Jk. I haven't seen him in person, does he have a frame so he can gain some weight?

Went to the same high school as him, he is an absolutely electric player, he is a great returner which we could use. He is on the smaller side but he is ripped, I think he can play at UT, he is one of the athletes you just need to have on the field.

I could be wrong too but I think I remeber that guy on Tecmo Super Bowl on regular nintendo...I though it was Meggett...he was fast as lightning on that game!!!
