'11 TN QB Mike Wegzyn

He was there and so was the other recruit from Knox Catholic, Kerbyson. I think he was the only QB at junior day.

did that wallace kid ever get offered anywhere? Maybe now his parents will quit trying to ride the kid's coattails to NFL money, b/c that **** just ain't happening

SIAP, but is this person listed on the UT football roster his brother?

86 Matt Wegzyn TE 6-2 234 So. Sq. Northville, Mich. (Northville)

Wezgyn the QB just ran a 4.79 - 40 time at a combine. I'm liking that.

I thought arm strength was the upside to this guy??? 5 reps at 185? I saw at least 3 other qb's of the same size on this list that were both faster and stronger. And I'm assuming this was just among Michigan kids. We'll see how he does for Catholic,as they have quite a schedule this year. He will have to put up some RIDICULOUS stats to prove he is D-1 worthy. Even then, he'll be at a disadvantage having played high school ball in TN. Recent TN QB D-1 signees of similar size, speed, and strength that I can remember: Lee Sweeney Friendship; David Wolke, Smyrna; BJ Coleman, McCallie; Curt Phillips, Sullivan South.... There might actually be a curse on QB's from Tennessee. I honestly can't think of a qb that has come from TN in the last 10 years (maybe more) that has even been a factor in D-1 football. I'm sure to be overlooking someone, but none come to mind.

Putting up 400 pounds doesn't mean you can throw 80 yards.

Throwing 80 yards doesn't mean you can put it on target, so what? That isn't what I was trying to say though. Take all of this kids measurables together (td's, int's, yards, comp/att, speed, strength) All I was saying is that there were several other qb's on that list that had the same or better measurables. Wegzyn could turn out to be a #1 draft pick for all I know. But more int's than td's is very telling, as is a less than 50% completion rating. People were saying that Nash Nance wasn't worthy of an offer from us, and he threw for like 3,000 yards and 29 td's.

Kid out of Baylor but that might have been 20 years ago. From Tennessee I have no idea other than Lowe. Oak Ridge QB?

Corey Lewis from Gallatin went to Auburn back in the late 80's. But he dropped out to take care of family I think. Ingle Martin from MBA went to Florida, and at one point he was on the Titans' roster. Barry Brunetti from MUS went to WVU this year I think. These kind of signings don't happen very often though, and when they do, the kids seldom see playing time.

I read somewhere that his Michigan team had no OLine. If you watch his film, he gets pressured alot. He just made the finals of the Steve Clarkson camp and is getting offers from d1 schools. Maybe the move was to play better football than what he had up north. He says it was his dad's job but I wonder after hearing that his coaches and teammates in Mich were bad. Time will tell with him but I'd sure like to see a Knoxville kid be a big deal nationally.

Antonio Heffner from Memphis. Played some ball at South Carolina and later transferred to Tennessee State
