i heard mack truck will be banging heads next week for bowl practice. also hear he's graduating earlier than early, as in next mon and tues finishing finals. he's supposed to be in vol uniform on wed next week.

Vols Fr QB Tyler Bray impressed with January enrollee C Mack Crowder (6-4, 270) today in practice. "Nice addition," Bray said.

Crowder looks like a college player in pads. Very nice build for a center. Already looks strong.

Exactly what I was thinking, it is wide open behind J Stone. I could see him in the 2 deep because Gooch is not SEC lineman material and Pope will more than likely not be healthy.

I have no knowledge except second hand. Mack supposedly was as Dooley said "Wide Eyed" to the new speed and power on day one. However by the second day was finding the right gears. I hear he was caught unprepared on a few plays but actually did give a whippin on one play with a pancake. That's all i know at this point.

According to comments in the papers from Dooley and Hiestand - Mack will be a very solid lineman. Apparently they really liked what they saw during the pre bowl practices. I'm hearing he was quick to pick up the new level of speed.

Probably the best kicker in the state of Tennessee in High School football last year was Mack Crowder's and Brendan Downs' teammate All Conference, pre Season All State Brendan Rutherford who routinely made 54 yard field goals and never failed to put a kickoff in the end zone. Unfortunately Rutherford was shadowed all year due to Crowder and Downs' popularity. +1 more point ends any doubt who the real winner was of the heartbreak bowl game.
