Tennessee High School (Bristol)
Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 270 lbs

Tennessee has been looking for aggressive, athletic guys. His videos and personal quotes seem to suggest that he has that physical, nasty streak coaches covet in an offensive lineman.

Rivals 12/4/09---

I just like to play real smashmouth football. I like to drop people down the field and I like to help break a run. I think I'm quick off the ball and take advantage of the snap count. I also have good feet and I didn't give up any sacks this season.

you cant tell as much about his one on one abilities because of all the double teams he is involved in. He is solid though.

My friend follows Duke very close. He was at the Duke v. Georgia Tech game. He said when Crowder was there on a recruit visit (at Duke) on the sideline pre-game, coach Cutcliffe (head coach of Duke and former big time Vol coach) pulled Crowder over to the side (at the 50-yd line) away from about 100 other recruits and spoke to him alone.

My understanding is that Georgia Tech is also recruiting Crowder very heavily. My friend also heard that Crowder might have been there to see Georgia Tech. But I don't know.

Anyway. This dude plays smashmouth ball. He puts everybody down that lines up across from him. His school (Tenn High) is ranked #1 in Tennessee (class 5A). :good!:

He goes to my high school that I graduated from. I am not very close to him or anything but if his recruitment ever gets crazy like Rogers did, I might be in the know. lol

Crowder received 2 ACC and 1 SEC offer in 2 days.

"Mack Truck" Crowder took an unofficial visit to watch Duke practice on Friday. During the individual drills portion of spring practice Head Coach David Cutcliffe visited with Crowder on the sidelines. At that time Cutcliffe offered Crowder an official full scholarship offer to attend Duke.

During the drive home back from Duke, Crowder received an email to his cell phone asking him to call Virginia Tech recruit coach Charlie Wiles ASAP. Crowder called and Wiles explained that the entire coaching staff had been in a group meeting and were still together around a conference table. Wiles put the call on a speaker phone and at the time Head Coach Frank Beamer offered Crowder an official full scholarship offer to attend Virginia Tech.

Vanderbilt HC Bobby Johnson offered one day earlier.

WHAT ARE WE WAITING ON HERE? :good!:

GLAD that Mack is getting some offers from good D-1 schools...give our staff some time to evaluate him...remember, this staff is starting out behind the eight-ball just like the former "mercenaries" did last year...we'll have plenty of time considering it's eleven months until NSD...GBO!

Tennessee has quite a bit of quality OL this year. I hope we give this guy a real serious look, and offer soon.

Dang two brothers playing for Princeton and Cornell? Must be some proud parents. I for one have always considered UT the Princeton of East Tennessee

Until recently Mack Crowder was regarded as a talented prospect by those that had seen him play, but he hadn't generated too much buzz on the recruiting trails. That has changed now that three schools have extended written offers. MORE Crowder picking up offers
