'11 TN OL Kyler Kerbyson

He's in high school. He, more than likely, has never had a coach teach him the fundamentals of footwork. Lighten up.

Wasn't saying anything negative just saying that we have a ton of OL talent coming in and he is going to have to "work like heck" to see playing time.

Dude, these kids are either all american or a bust by the conclusion of fall camp freshman year. Get with the program.

I posted this in the DT's thread:

Any chance Kerbyson gets a look at DT? He had a very productive year. I know it was Tennessee AAA.

Led defense with 86 tackles and posted 27 tackles-for-loss, five sacks and three forced fumbles. Garnered Knoxville News Sentinel PrepXtra All- Knoxville Football League defensive player of the year and first team honors.

But I may have my answer with this:

I don't care if he ends up at tackle or guard, Wylie and Hiestand better find a way to get him to move his feet quicker than this.

I don't think were at the point where we can start switching OL to DL just yet. Maybe in a few years.

I hope Kerbyson does well for the Vols but I watched Shaq Mason from Columbia (who signed with Georgia Tech) beat him like a rented mule in the playoffs last year. Best of luck to Kyler but I fear he will be an over-rated bust.

could Kerbyson be one of our Greyshirts??? He is an instate kid and could live at home for the semester...he won't get any playing time anyway.

I'll take Kiffin, Jimbo Fisher, Meyer, Dooley, Harbaugh, & Neuhiesls opinion over yours. & if you wondering, thats all the BCS coaches that offered Kerbyson.

Don't you just love all the expert evaluators we have on here. Why the heck are we paying CDD and the rest of the staff when we got these guys to do it for nothing.

If the guy got whipped, then he got whipped. But I agree with what was said before, you can't base your offer on one high school game.

This is what I was referring to. Not rather he had a bad game and got manhandled according to one person opinion. Every team or player has someone that just gives them fits. But one game doesn't make him over rated.

It sounds like you're saying he got beat while playing DL (since Mason played OL and Kyler played both ways). I don't see how that applies since he was recruited here to play OL.

Mason also played on defense and he may've been the state's best DT last year. He finished the year with 141 total tackles (90 solo) and 17 sacks.
