'11 TN OL/DT Cody Robinson

Team statistician here. Because we don't keep track of pancakes, I can't confirm the number, but Coach Johnson said that after reviewing the film Cody had fourteen. I do know he had six tackles and a fourth quarter sack which forced fourth and 18 for DeKalb. Two of the tackles were for a loss to my knowledge. He also had three or four hurries of the QB and was partially responsible for a QB fumble in either the first or second quarter.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear we have a stat guy now.

How do you think he played? Is he
dominating the game?

unless they got new kids transfered, i dont see how they can. Tullahoma played both teams last yr, beat Shelbyville and lost to WC. I know thats last yr, but im not impressed with anything in Shelbyville...:)

So if West, Walsh, Clark, McKinney and Ward (a heavy Bama lean) were all OG types that we had higher than Robinson on our board....and they've all committed elsewhere (or pretty much have in Ward's case)...is it safe to say Robinson might be a take for us at this point?

A few things, because quoting five posts is going to clog up the page:

-Warren County will be a three point underdog at Shelbyville this Friday (five point dog last week v. DeKalb)
-Shelbyville doesn't suck. They smacked up Coffee Co. last week, 49-13 (Coffee is a pretty poor team, but not a bad win at all)
-From what I saw in the visitor's press box (which, if any of the DeKalb staff/school administration is reading this, make your stadium better. Easily the worst stadium I've been to in my entire life. Don't put a freaking light pole on the 50), DeKalb switched around assorted linemen on Cody all night...none of them could stop him. He didn't have much resistance in terms of getting to the QB, but despite the fact DeKalb had twice as many passing yards as they did rushing, they ran the ball somewhat more than they did pass. After thinking about it, Cody had (most likely) five hurries of the QB on Friday night. While Dustin Rhea had the biggest night of anyone on defense, Cody was somewhat responsible for creating the opportunities for turnovers. (there were also three or four DeKalb fumbles that were not recovered by WC)

Hoping Cody has a bigger night against Shelbyville, but if he can pick up a sack or two and maybe force a fumble/recover one, it'll be progress.

No, Posey and probably Kerbyson project at OG. We're not desperate to add an OG...

I believe Asiata, who is supposedly very interested in the Vols, may be higher on the board. Scout has him ranked as the 14th overall OT in the country, ahead of Kerbyson and just behind Richardson. However, he has been playing at Guard as well.

Cody is going to have to show out quite a bit at this point to get an offer. If we were to take him it almost has to be on the defensive side of the ball IMO.

I agree. Cody is not a take at this point -- by the way, neither were West and Clark. I believe that at the moment, Richardson, Clear, and probably Asiata are all above Cody on our board, and it would take a miss on at least two of them for us to take Cody on offense. Right now, I believe we will get both Richardson and Clear, and if we offer Asiata after a visit, I believe we will get him also.

I have said for a while that Cody's best chance to get a UT offer is at DT. He badly needs to help himself out by really good showings on defense this season, and if he does so UT might offer as a DT that also could play on offense if Richardson and Clear were to be switched to the defense -- a move I think is possible for each of them, based on our needs on the defensive line.

mission accomplished in game 1. i think the reports we have here classify as "showing out". He continues to do that and maybe the staff will take notice.... I hope

How is Kerbyson only a 3 star?

Basically Rivals said he was too much of a raw unfinished product to be a four star but they have inferior prospects who are raw ranked ahead of him. Some of Rivals ratings especially in the South are questionable this year.

Why in the world does this guy have so many responses under his thread? You would swear he was an All American or something. He doesn't even have an offer, and from all I have heard probably will not be getting one. Can we move on?

Back from tonight's game...which was awful. Even if Shelbyville is way better than expected, losing 41-13 is ridiculous.

Cody had six tackles (one assist) and a forced fumble in essentially two quarters of work. The score was 41-6 after about a minute or two of play in the second half and most defensive starters were removed at that point.

For a good portion of the first half, it really seemed like Cody was the only player even trying on defense...all-around, an ugly game for the team. Completely outclassed.

Cody and the rest of the O-line did another great job tonight in the rushing game, had (I think) about 230 yards rushing tonight which is about the same as last week. Can't do too well when your QB holds the ball three seconds too long on every pass play.

Thanks for the stats. Team wise that was pittiful I thought Cody played well though. As many guys as he had blocking him somebody had to be unblocked every play. Do you know why he didn't play much in the 2nd half?
