'11 TN OL/DT Cody Robinson

Just trust me on this.

Once again you're implying you either have some kind of inside info or you're clairovoyant when it comes to a highly rated in-state lineman...I've yet to see a reason to believe either about you

Thanks I will consider that a compliment. Ok then how long does your amazing mind think Cody will wait on UT?

Probably not long. You guys also need to remember a knoxville reporter is going to make UT sound very high on a prospects list. I really believe he is offer worthy. I think Cody's height is the biggest issue right now.

The thing is.... Cody Robinson is the type of player we should be able to slow play until NSD if need be. That way if someone de-commits late in the game (at any position not just OL) we could have someone in waiting who... almost at the drop of a hat... would sign with UT.

The only thing is, in the past the kind of guys who've basically wanted to go to their home state school all their lives or they've got family ties (both the case here).... when they don't get a scholarship from that school and other schools start offering, they will take it as a slap in the face and commit to another school almost in spite of the home state school. That has happened all over college football for awhile now. A lot of kids from Ohio that don't get offered by OSU go to Michigan just because.

I think we should definitely hold out a scholarship offer with Robinson until some more dominoes fall. Posey is already on board with us, so taking 2 OL right off the bat who are fairly debatable takes just wouldn't be a good start when we need immediate contributors at that position.

I agree with this except the part about posey.

Robinson has said that he'd like to make a decision before school starts back and that once he's made his choice, that's it - it's final.

We desperately need interior offensive linemen and Robinson's an ideal guard/center type, IMO, whether he stands 6-2 or 6-4. I don't think he's the most talented OL prospect we're recruiting but among the guys were going after, I don't think anyone matches his combination of brute strength, quickness, explosiveness and agility.

Here's a snippet on Robinson's MVP performance at the Nike camp in Tuscaloosa that I haven't seen posted here: "Very polished and well-rounded in all areas. Dad played for Tennessee and Robinson showed great technique, dominated the one-on-ones and plays with a mean streak."

It's unusual for a rising HS junior to get such glowing reviews on his OL technique.

We're reportedly in good shape with some guys who may rate higher at this point, but DeBell will be a tackle, Richardson probably a tackle and Kerbyson either a tackle or guard.

If Robinson doesn't work out on the OL I think he'd make a very fine DT, and that's something you probably can't say about anyone else we're recruiting except Richardson.

I am from NYC But in Syracuse for buisness. Does anyone know if Cody is in Syracuse? I swear I saw him working out in my hotel.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo another 3 Star!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!! .............

Most highly rated classes have a LOT of 3* players. Just look at Texas' current commits. Its hilarious, given what our program has went through the past 2 years, that we STILL have fans whining and crying over not getting 4 and 5* guys to commit to a coaching staff that hasnt coached a game here yet.

I am from McMinnville and know Cody pretty well so I just thought I would help clear some of this up. So go easy on me.

My daughter is a cheerleader ( she is also very good friends with Cody) so I go to all the games. Cody is a great player. He has a very unique combination of siize, speed, and strength.

I saw him Saturday night at the USO Show the football team was selling some signs and stuff. He looks like he is in really good shape. He said he weighed around 298.

When I asked him about schools he didn't say a lot just that he had some great option he was going to weigh them all. My daughter thinks he will end up at Duke or Syracuse. Also I don't think he ends up at UT.

As far as grades go my daughter says he has really good grades. He is a great person and once he commits no way he decommits.

Our offensive line coach before being fired after the '05 debacle. He is now at MTSU in the same position recruiting Robinson.

That is a sad, sad, sad, sad post from a recruiter. If you are the MTSU head coach, you have to be planting your forehead squarely into your palm. That is some seriously stupid material coming form a position coach and recruiter. Geez...

You haven't been told yet MTSU is taking over TN..................not.

MTSU has been landing some great players, seriously. Ben Cunningham from Goodpasture and Sammy Seamster from Ooltewah come to mind.

Yup, hopefully MT can keep up their forward progress in football. It'd be nice to have to good football teams in the state. It'd at least make things more interesting. They need better fan support though.
