What does one say about that video? I am sort of treading on unfamiliar ground here. I like the kid. I think against elite competition he would be humbled a little bit. I think his size allows him to be dominant. I will say he does have a really good swim move and is quick on his first step. But, I see him as a backup who comes in and gets everyone pumped up because the big country boy is in the game now...would probably be a town favorite. Reminds me of Bill Duff, I love his celebrations (I laughed), and he absolutely demolishes Donovan McNabb at 3:53 mark on teh defensive highlights video on youtube.

Cody is being recruited very hard by Nick Saban and a shoebox full of others. Saban calls him regularly. He is the son of Ray Robinson, center on 85 Tennessee Sugar Bowl team. The quality of the video does not do his play justice. He played heads up on some dude that was preseason all-state and the word was he kept him on his heels the whole game with multiple pancakes (sorry, don't know who he was). His dad Ray said he is 295# and in the 400-450 bench range and has his speed down to 4.6-4.7. Coaches from all over have been sending blank CD's to have his highlights sent to them and the coaching staff has sit on their hands all year and then resigned at the end of the season. He will be coached his senior year by new coach Tommy Johnson, (Alabama National champions 91, secondary) with some pro time.

One opposing new coach made the statement in the paper that "Now I know what a Div.1 player looks like". He is a hard nosed kid that puts up with no bull on the field. As far as being "humbled", it will take some muscle to do it. I see Cody every Sunday at church and I always feel very small.

UT doesn't have a great history in middle TN, but McMinnville is big orange country...i lived there for about 10 years

CDD, you need to check this kid out fast. Keep Saban away. He looked bigger than everyone else on both teams and was pretty quick to the ball.

GBO!!!!

WOW!

I only needed to see about 45 seconds of that tape to make that assessment, and the only reason for that was because the first 30 seconds were just a still image and some text.

I'm not the least bit concerned about the pass blocking. In this type of scheme, the manner in which pass blocking is done generally differs greatly from what happens at the college level, so there'd be an unlearning/learning period to begin with.

If he ends up at UT, I'll be ecstatic.

For some reason Failmer didn't like to recruit from warren co.I think we had a recruit commit and turned to memphis. Ever since we get looked over.

governmentmule,

He does very well as a pass blocker but he mostly just knocks the wax out of people and opens up holes. If two people are on him, he knocks the wax out of two people and opens up holes.

what ? I am really sorry if this is rude but that's the dumbest statement I have ever heard. Vanderbilt may be in Nashville, but Middle Tennessee is Big Orange Country !

I'm referring to UT's recent recruiting history in middle TN. try to keep up please

Tennessee's Mt. Cody

To say that McMinnville (TN) Warren County High School junior offensive/defensive tackle Cody Robinson (6-foot-4 310 lbs) is a big man is an understatement. Put that with his athletic ability, and you have a D-1 football prospect. [details]

Nice article. I heard about Cody a few weeks ago on Coach T. He is really blowing up that website. I also added him on facebook. Welcome to Facebook | Facebook . He has some other videos and pictures on there. EVERYONE add him as a friend and let's make sure we keep him thinking ORANGE. We can really use this kid. He is a hometown boy and knows all about UT since his Dad was vol.
