'11 TN OL/DL Antonio Richardson

I have seen him play 3 games this season and he has not been impressive at all. Seems feeble and gets hurt a lot. Hes got the body to be good but he just seems average. He doesnt stand out in run blocking at all and his pass blocking is so so, havent seen him against anyone all that good.

ok, what did they say. could the scolarships be based on his physical attributes? i'm just looking to hear how good he is, and (besides scholarship offers) i haven't seen anything on here specifically about performance. every week people report how oue targets are doing, and how they did in camps; but, i haven't seen those reports on AR. the only reports i see are negative, except for his size.

I said similary things about Stone last year and he is getting playing time this year.

Pretty much the coaching at the high school level is lacking in Tennessee outside of a few exceptions. I'm sure most of his offer list is based on his physical attributes. Stone is a great example from last year, he got dominated against elite prospects at the UA game practices.

If you'll check around, I think you'll find the Ricky Bowers, Ensworth's coach, is well respected in the coaching ranks.

The article for Gabe Wright that was just posted on TOS had an interesting quote from Wright about Richardson...

Wright basically said that based on some things he heard Richardson say he believes Richardson will definitely be a Vol

That goes well with my coffee on this FINE a.m.:)

Here's the exact quote from Wright:

"I think he is going to Tennessee," Wright said. "Just based off the questions he asked. He said he heard I was going to Auburn. I told him I'm going to be in the SEC. I told him I'll be playing with you or against you."

Wright had some good things to say about us in the article. He seems to be really impressed with how we're playing for how young we are and the future. Also seems to think Richardson is going to be a Vol. Idk but Wright's words seemed for real.

More money is spent on the average player in public schools of other states than in Tennessee.... Can't blame that on coaches.

His Mom has been rumored to have fallen in love with UT as well so we'll see. As far as mom's go I like our chances with CDD and CCS.

Who are we talking about Richardson or Wright?

I am very interested to see how Dooley does at the coffee table. He has a good sense of humor and does not seem to come off as arrogant. He's well spoken, intelligent, quick witted, and seems to know how to read people he's talking with.

He doesn't seem to take himself too serious unlike Meyer, Miles, Petrino, and others. I personally think that kind of confidence is appealing.

We will see what recruits think.

i find this compleatly crazy that this instate kid is basicly giving us a harder time to come to UT than a out of state kid. wth is it with TN kids and them not wanting to go to the in state school like other normal guys....

this kills me... GO TO YOUR STATE SCHOOL AND DONT BE A TRADER

Then I assume you're behind Dooley stopping the recruitment of all out-of-state prospects that UT is currently after?

Smart? are they recruiting him for defense?

AR is being recruited as a jumbo athlete. The same way the Alabama staff looked at current DE/DT combo Brandon Moore. Richardson could end up at either OL or as an interior defensive lineman in Alabama's 3-4 scheme. He has a great skill set, and whoever gets him will have a very talented player.

Wth that's what a lot of us want to do with him if he comes here but we were kind of unsure b/c it has been stated multiple times he's strictly an OL. The way we need both DL and OL I wonder if we're taking that same route.

Mack Crowder's dad told me that when they were getting the close from CDD in his office sittin' in those big leather chairs behind a couple sets of locked doors that Dooley's young son is let in by another coach and the boy walks up to CDD and Dooley says... "You see this? Football isn't my life. THIS IS MY LIFE "... and points to his son. That type of personality sets very well with a good parent.

I'll bet a house payment on Dooley in a "parent close" and win the majority of the time.

Coach Dooley is a class act, I honestly dont think we could have made a better hire. He is perfect for what this program needs right now.
