'11 TN OL/DL Antonio Richardson

Yea, it's starting to look better and better for Tiny and I'm still not sure who our main competition for Clear even is.

Unless Clear gets a firm offer at FNL this week I would not be surprised to see him name UT a leader and even commit soon.

LOL, man I swear you spend more time on here than most UT fans but I think you and TS give some really solid info from a rival team perspective. I can't speak for everyone one here but I am glad you guys post here on VN.

P.S. I still think you guys are closet VOLS. lol

Yea, I really don't know what he's waiting on, but he keeps saying he wants to take officials before he commits.

I can't blame him. Why not? I would enjoy the official also. I would however let the staff know what Iwas up to though.

said his visit to ND this weekend was "great" and the "campus was beautiful"

... i still believe ND is on the outside looking in on this great prospect. it is going to be a tough pull him out of tennessee, but i think AR is high on BKs priority list.

UT or Bama.

It doesn't seem like he has a priority list, considering he is never around to meet them.

besides being from tennessee, what makes you so confident he will be a VOL?

(serious question)

Honestly what makes you think ND has even the slightest chance in landing him, it is Alabama or UT, and even the Bama fans are conceding that we lead

He is in a HUGE position of need that we have no depth at, we are the state school, and we are recruiting him the hardest because he is our #1 target

well for starters he gushed over his trip to south bend this past weekend. he must be somewhat interested to take an 8 hour drive to UNOFFICIALLY visit a school... yes, no?

secondly, he plans on majoring in business (notre dame is the #1 undergraduate business school in the country http://www.businessweek.com/interactive_reports/bschools_undergraduate_10rankings.html ). AR stated that he loves notre dame being high on academics.

ftr, i am not saying ND is in the lead or even close to it for ARs services, however we obviously have a "slight chance" of getting him.

although, since he is your "#1 target" and you are "recruiting him the hardest" i guess all the other schools should probably just concede...

I think UT could win out because of his relationship with coach Dooley. Richardson's family seems to really like and respect him. I think they would feel comfortable in sending their son to UT. They also have a really good relationship with OC Jim Chaney. He was one of the holdovers from Kiffin's staff, and has been recruiting Richardson for two years now. I've heard that their relationship with him is perhaps the biggest reason that UT is in a good position right now. Bama might win out because Nick Saban is a great coach, and he has his team competing for the national title every year. You certainly have to consider an offer from him considering his history. I must say that I read the Notre Dame interview with Richardson on Rivals, and it didn't sound like he was gushing to me. Notre Dame certainly didn't hurt themselves, but it sounded like the standard recruit interview to me. One thing I don't get is why Kelly didn't bother to be there when the kid visited. I have read several interviews where he has been absent when kids visit. I think if they want to get this kid in particular, then he will have to involved a little bit.

thanks for the reply, gushing might be a little much, but AR did say "i could see myself there (ND)"...so that certainly means something...

BK was scheduled to be at cancer fundraiser that weekend (his wife had breast cancer). BK called AR and told him the situation. with that said, i wish BK could have been there. it is unfortunate but imagine the ESPN headline if BK skipped out on the fundraiser: "NOTRE DAME HEAD COACH SKIPS OUT ON CANCER FUNDRAISER TO SPEND TIME WITH RECRUIT ON UNOFFICIAL VISIT" ...eh, wouldnt have exactly gone so well.

anyways, i do not think the goal this week was to get AR to commit (obviously) but to gain a OV and i think ND might have accomplished that.

Just saying, those rankings change every year. I would look more at consistency and output. Wharton and McIntire (UVA) are easily in the top, if not the definite top 2.

Anyways, we are in good shape with AR as of now.

Notre Dame isn't a factor. Its about as much of a factor as it was for James Stone. Nothing more than a hat on the table. Tide or Vols.
