'11 TN OL/DL Antonio Richardson

Stone has a ton of potential but I would bet on JJ having alot to say about who will turn out the best of the group. ;)

I agree that it will be a UT/UA battle but might only be a 55/55 right now.

Although he did not attend the spring game, the Richardson family was able to visit Tennessee for their junior day. The new staff made a solid impression on the family.

"We have called UT a few times, talked to coach Dooley and the other coaches," Lanny said. "We went to visit once and it went really well. I know coach Dooley is recruiting him real hard and we are just blessed to have all of this attention."

Alabama is another school of interest that has stepped in with an offer. It seems the Tide could be in a favorable position at this time.

"Coach Saban and Dooley are good guys you can talk to," Lanny said. "I suppose right now we have a little more interest in Alabama than anyone else.

CrimsonConfidential.com - Bama looks like leader for OT Richardson

I have talked to a guy who helps coach/train him and he says Tennessee is number 1. He said it'll be a UT/Bama battle till the end.

At this point I do not think it matters because NSD is a long way off. I will still say 50/50 just based on that quote from his father.

I think that's the way most people are that follow recruiting. No one is 100% set until their name is on that LOI come NSD.

As of right now he will be playing in the Army AA Game and plans to annouce at it if ready. So his recruitment is far from over.

"Antonio is just looking to be comfortable, and wants to relate to the coaching staff," Lanny said. "He wants a coach he can be close to, he wants someone who's going to make sure he gets his grades in order and watches after him. He was invited to both All-American games and will play in the Army game. He may announce at the game but we aren't sure about that yet, just depends on if he's ready."

2 questions
who is recruiting him Hiestand or Smith?
is Bama's depth going to be an issue with him, or is he good enough to get pt regardless?

Not sure why he picked the Army over the UA game.

In regards to playing time at UA depends on what side of the ball he plays on. On offense he has the opportunity to come in and gets reps early. Remeber last year we were still hoping for 2 OL at the last minute, J Stone and S Coleman. We only got 3 OL last year with the hope of signing 5.

Also besides Cyrus, who we think we will land on NSD, I would say that AR and Clear might be our 2 biggest targets on the board for OL. We are also going very hard after B Hart, but many believe he will end up at UF and than there is X Ward. But I believe that besides Cyrus the 2 TN OL I mentioned are two we are after the hardest right not.

How so? The Army game is an excellent event. But then so is the UA game is also. How do you decide?

The Under Armour game is run much better and is way more organized. The week's events are run much smoother and the quality of the game is a lot better.

The Army game is nothing but a big media fiasco.

My issue with the ESPN game is some of the players that get invited are not as talented as the players that go to the Army game. Not all just some, but it is because ESPN has their own rating service and tries to promote it by unviting the players they think are the best. Alot of their rankings go against the Scout and Rival rankings for players. They also in the past few years when top players turned them down and went to the Army game bumped up other players that came to the UA game. If you watch right before the final rosters for both games are announced ESPN will redo their rankings and players from the UA game will go higher so to make their game seem better.

The UA game is better run but talent is not that much better.

Anyone else notice that some of the lowest rated prospects selected to play in the AAA game are ND commits/prospects? Think it has to do with NBC showing the AAA game?

head1: saw you post after I posted. I echo your sentiments.

Tom Lemming is responsible for that. He's a major ND homer.

The Army game is a Notre Dame love fest.

+1. Austin Collinsworth!? LMFAO. Dude was a totally average/mediocre football prospect at best. That was all because of daddy and Lemming.

The Army game is nothing but a big media circus with these recruiting gurus up the kid's asses all week long.

The Under Armour game is run much more smoothly without all of the media circus surrounding it.

And I dont think there is much difference at all in the talent level between the two, the Under Armous game is just run much better and runs a much more competitive game.
