Thomas said he already has lined up a trip to Tennessee on Jan. 14, but that’s currently the only one he has scheduled.
“From the way it looks right now,” he said, “that will be my only official.”
The three-star athlete prospect, who's likely to play cornerback at UT, doesn’t expect to waver on his commitment. Thomas, who made an unofficial visit for the Vols’ win over Ole Miss on Nov. 13, insisted he remains as excited as ever about joining the team in June.

Can anyone provide some more information on Tino? I'm assuming he'll play CB....? How and where can we expect him to contribute? What are his strengths? He hasn't been talked about too much and I'm just curious about all the Vol commits.

He will play CB. I'd expect him to contribute some his sophomore year. He has great potential but is raw. His strengths are definitely speed and athletic ability. He's not an EE. FWIW, he's a guy the staff really likes.

Tino played in the local All-Star game here in a Memphis that leads up to the Liberty Bowl. Everything I heard was that he did a very good job playing at the Safety position. Feeling was that he left a really good impression of his ability and work ethic on a lot of coaches.

I was skeptical about this kid at first but he sounds like he could be our starting CB down the road, he certainly has the athletic ability

He's a 6'1 190lb corner with legit 4.4 speed. He's raw in a lot of parts of his game but he still is a nice project. He has a lot of tools to work with too. Hope this helps you.

With that size he had better not grow anymore if he wants to play corner.

He is a couple of cheeseburgers from being a big safety.. LOL..
J. Jackson 6'0" 193lbs. How big was Berry?

I'm not sure, others may know. He did say he wanted bigger LB's.

I like bigger defenders myself, but you have to find the one's that can also run to play in this league as u well know.

Janzen Jackson is really a hard hitting corner. Thomas has good size for a CB and I hope we keep him there. I think Dooley wants a bigger team period. Especially on defense. And Dooley did say he wants 200+ safeties.

I really just want punishing hitters at safety. I know there's more to it, but after playing that position in HS, I'm really excited about players like Randolph coming here.

Thomas did say that he may check out North Texas at some point between now and signing day, but he's not sure at this point. If he does, he said, it's nothing for Tennessee to worry about because he's had no second thoughts about his commitment.

I think Janzen should be playing corner. That's his natural position but if the switch was made....who would take the safety spot?

Cool quote by Pat Martin:

"It was just a good time," Martin said. "I've been around them before, but I think it's important to create that bond if we are going to win together. I hung out with Geraldo Orta quite a bit and he's a good guy. Me, Tino (Thomas), Brian (Randolph), and Orta were hanging out and coach Dooley and coach Wilcox told us that this is the future."
