Is this going to happen soon or is Tino going to get left behind?

I think it is probably already too late for Tino, unless we miss on a number of more highly sought after recruits.

A less than stellar recruit should not play the "recruiting game" -- the train may leave the station without him. I think this is where Tino is at with UT.

It's too late until he has an Incredible season and his offer list blows up
Kid has had camps

I just wonder if that does happen what the consensus will be if we miss on him

Hopefully, Tino is getting his academics in order. Even if he has, I think we would have to whiff on several of our recruits for us to have a spot for him.

Tino got a phone call from HC DD yesterday. Definite sign Vols want him.

yup.

he is a versatile DB who can play CB or Safety.

He's done well at every camp including ours...

the signs all point to this Staff wanting to land him

It looks like he mostly plays S for his high school (along with being a hell of a RB). He is a vicious tackler.

I know he intends to be here for the Oregon game, all signs point to him leaving committed.

Would be nice to have guys like him, along with other commits that will be there (Worley, Martin, Posey etc.) working on the rest of the talent in attendance.

"I just want to go up there, support Tennessee and basically see how they come out and play and just hang out with the coaches and talk to the coaches,"

"Coach Dooley, coach Wilcox, all of them, they're just really down to earth. The players, I got a chance to talk to them and everything, and I really like them."

"Tennessee, they're up high on my list," Thomas said. "They're on top of my favorites right now."

VQ Article.

Sweet. Heading in the right direction.

This one throws me -- how can we drop our very good position with Avery Walls in favor of aggressively pursuing Tino Thomas, who in addition to being not as good of a player as Walls (from looking at the film of each in action), also has grade problems.

I completely trust our coaching staff, but am having a hard time understanding this one.

LV??

Anyone have some insight here?

Thomas is a CB. Walls is a Safety.

That would be nice. As for in-state guys, we gotta get Cam Clear and Richardson, I think that would be stating the obvious. Point being, behind them this guy and D. Young were the other two in-state guys I hoped to get. OBVIOUSLY we are not going to get Young, that's fine. But getting Tino Thomas, Cameron Clear, and Antonio Richardson to round out the in-state guys would be rather strong IMO. Talk about building the fence, well that's all Kiffin did. Dooley isn't talking much, just doing. I hope we get Tino....

Don't forget King. We want him pretty badly.

I haven't. I'm just not sure about the Ole' Miss ties everyone was talking about a while back. And YES, he would be a really good get. Not sleeping on him, just had the idea King was the one sleeping on UT.

ALL of the casual observors forget King.

"Casual Observers", LOL at you. That's the 2nd or 3rd cheep shot you've taken at me since I joined this sight. The LACK of information you bring to this board makes you a "Casual Observer" just like me and the other "little bits" on here.

it's a UT-Auburn battle. he has visited UT 3 time under Dooley. he is definitely not sleeping on the Vols.

Cool! Was it Auburn or Ole Miss he had ties to? Either way, he would be a GREAT GET!! Just add him to the list I put up earlier for closing on in-state guys.

Off topic, but since you live in Hampton I wanted to ask. Do you play golf? If so, have you played Red-Tail Mountain up in Mountain City? SWEET TRACK. If you don't play, forget I asked, LOL. Keep up the good work.
