'11 SC QB Justin Worley

I'd still rather have Brissett. JMHO. I am worried about the QB spot. I personally have seen Worley and I think he got hyped too much. Nance is not going to be able to hang in the SEC from what I have seen so far at the summer workouts. Bray is good, but one SEC hit and he could be done because of his lack of weight. He goes down too easily in practice when touched - can't imagine what will happen when he gets hit. CDD just brought into camp another non-scholarship QB, so it seems that he isn't happy with the present situation either. I hope I am wrong because this position is too important for the Vols to not be solid at it. I just don't have a good feeling based on what I've seen.

Doak Raulston was brought in because Lamaison is leaving. Has nothing to do with the play of Simms or Bray.

Great post, would read again.

It just goes to show you how stupid UT is when they pay coaches millions and they could have had ILOVEUT for a fraction and had a lot better team. I cant see UT hanging on to any coach very long when we have posters on here that are so much better at coaching and evaluation of talent. I bet you are offered the Vandy job.

This is just my humble opinion. I am concerned about my beloved Vols, especially at QB. Gosh, why criticize someone's genuine concerns. Have many practices have you attended to check out this team? I've been at many, so I am making educated statements. I don't claim to be smarter than our coaches, but I think a non-scholarship LA Tech QB suddenly appearing in camp speaks volumes about CDD's thoughts on the QB situation. And, Worley was not the Vols 1st choice - we all know that.

So by your reasoning, any time UT allows a walk-on, they are in dire straights at that position. I have only been to one this year at UT but I have been to a couple at other schools and they seem to stack up reasonable well. I do have a question, how is your guess an educated guess unless you are a D1 coach or a talent scout for someone? My humble opinion is that you are a half empty person and/or a troll trying to see how much gloom and doom you can spread. I would venture to say that last year you were one of the ones predicting UT to go 2 and 10.

How do you get in? Genuine question. We're in the area and rarely are.

I agree. UT has absolutely no depth and QB. That kid is a huge long shot but it could come down to that.
And, Worley was not the Vols 1st choice - we all know that.

Not trying to be hateful but where did this information come from? Everything I had read to this point from anyone who has proven credible here is that Worley has been #1 since before the staff change.

I watched him in a 7 on 7 on tv. He wasn't very good. his arm strength was not good. If he has good arm strength then it wasn't effective at full speed.

I was excited about the prospects of this kid when I saw his measureables but... not so much now.

His production you can't argue with but I've always been concerned about his arm strength and throwing motion.

He's a project. I hope if it fails they'll make an early decision to move him somewhere he can contribute.

No depth and a very inexperienced OL. The new kid will be buried unless the first two guys go down.

In the summer, it is easy to get in. No one patrols the indoor facility and the team works out everyday at 3 pm. There are a few regulars there every day. After while, the staff all gets used to your face and you are treated like you belong. During the season, there are a couple of spots where you can watch everything that happens on the practice field.

Wittek was on our campus during the team camp last season -- of course, that was with the other staff. LeMay was high on our list earlier in the process and Coker blew all the coaches away at the first camp this year. It was my understanding that Worley was the best of what was left.

I am not negative about our team and I am not bashing them. I love the Vols. After watching the talent on a regular basis, it is obvious when a player isn't as good as or doesn't have the speed of the rest. Don't need to be a D-1 coach to see the obvious. My opinion is educated in one respect: I've watched them all summer. I've heard what the guys say to one another and how they treat each other. I've been a fly on the wall because I just can't get enough of Tennessee football.

I was one of the few believers last year and I proudly wore my orange in the Georgia Dome. Never am I a hater.

I haven't seen Brissett, just love his measureables. I know when Coker and Worley were in camp at the same time, Coker made Worley look foolish. Maybe Worley had a bad day. I'm sure his head was spinning. He walked around with Matt Simms and three beautiful Orange Pride girls for two days. I'd surely be distracted too!

I think I know who you are. Are you the guy I talked to with a bunch of sons? You must be independently wealthy to be there as much as you were. I am jealous. My job gets in the way of my love of football.

To say bringing the walk-on QB in "speaks volumes" to what Dooley thinks of the play at QB is ridiculous. We currently have a JUCO JR and (2) TRUE freshmen on the dept chart. Thats it. The walk-on kid was brought in strictly for depth and to run our scout team during practice. He will never see the field at UT and I am sure he understands this.

There is another walk-on QB. Can't think of his name - he played at CAK. He was on the squad last year and is still there. He actually isn't bad but doesn't get many reps in practice.

You sound like my mother in law, jeeze find something else to worry about! " My beloved Vols,bla,bla.bla.... you should be writing to the Oprah show instead of Football message boards!

Before anyone reads this it is only a rumor as far as I am concerned, but I m asking to see if anyone on here, the experts, know if it has any legs to it. I have heard that FSU might be coming strong after Worley. Did he before commiting to UT consider them. I know I read once he liked them but they seem to be slow playing him. So was just curious if they were now interested would he be interested. So again just asking.

I think he went to a QB camp there a few weeks before committing. He liked it there but came away with no offer.

no,
He had an FSU offer, Jimbo just chose to take a commit from Jacob Coker

Jimbo has said he only wants 1 QB per class but I know he is still pursuing J Brissette

The rumor is that Coker might no longer be the QB for FSU. Again just a rumor but apparantly FSU is now contacting Worley because Coker might be soon decommitted. I doubt Worley goes anywhere so I guess it is a moot point.

Jay is right, if FSU needs a QB Brissett is the guy they'll go after
