Visiting USCe this weekend and a commitment is likely. He has said he will not wait until the Under Armour game to announce. Looks like he is a Gamecock.

Heard the same. Murmurs on CockyTalk for the last week or so have said that Clemson has backed off of Townsend.

There seems to be concern about the real USC, but they are convinced in the end he will be theirs. I don't blame them. He is a SC kid and if in fact Clemson is out of the picture it is a no brainer.

Sorry, I was refering to SoCal as USC. When I said "SC" I just meant the state of South Carolina, not the school. Sorry for the mix up.

But yes, if Clemson is indeed out of the picture it would seem that USCjr will land him. I believe there was a recent Rivals article that said he had a leader and it was on the USCjr Rivals site so I would assume it is them.

^This. I grew up in North Carolina before moving to Tennessee and ending up in North Georgia. Anytime I hear people talking about "Carolina" my ears perk up and then come to find out they are talking about South Carolina. :banghead2:

I just say Southern Cal for USC and South Carolina for "USCjr." Helps me.

I doubt there's much of a chance... we want Dawson and Paul. Don't know how the numbers would work out and what would happen if someone we did have a shot with Lateek.

I definitely feel like Dawson and Paul are our best options if we can get them. Lateek has been playing the recruiting game for a while though. IF we get him on campus, I don't think we should put too much stock into it. He's hard to read.

"The reason's LSU's in it with Lateek is probably coach Chavis," Boyd said. "He recruited this school when he was at Tennessee and Robert played for him. I think Lateek is further along than Robert was at this point because he has great speed. That (relationship) has as much to do with it as anything."

"I asked if he picks a school and then he's supposed to go to ya'll on January 21. He said they wanted him on campus because he feels as if they get him on campus he might come to LSU. I guess they'll take a chance and if makes a commitment (at the Army game) they'll see if they can convince him otherwise."
