I know, I really think if distance is the factor people are saying, you're right.

His HS coach was quoted as saying that staying close to home was part of the reason, the other being the uncertainty of his position coach.

Agree, but it's hard on this staff because they have to decide which position they are going to basically have to neglect by addressing another one. I think it will be obvious on signing day that Dooley wants bigger, faster LBs (Johnson, Dawson, Paul, and Harris), more size and speed in the secondary, offensive linemen, and defensive tackles.

I personally think our D-line is going to be very good next year because we can rotate 8 guys (4 DEs and 4 DTs) without drop off.

DE-Smith/Miller/Martin/Bohannon
DT- Jackson/Couch/Walls/Hughes

Factor that in with the hopefulness of a guy like Jeffrey being able to improve as Coach O thought he was a big get, and hopeful that Wright or Johnson will commit to us and you could possibly have even more depth.

75, what about:

Greg Clark 6-3, 300, Fr. (prob. R/S this year)
Joseph Ayres 6-3, 262, Fr. (played some this year)
Stephen Fowlkes 6-5, 253, So. (played very little)

If Clark can play, Malik can be moved back to DE next year? And Ayres gives us more depth.

Clark was'nt in shape when he got on campus, I thought he was going to redshirt but I'm pretty sure he got into a few games. He has a long way to go before he can contribute

Ayers has really surprised me, he doesnt have the size for a true DT, I could see him moving to DE. Either way Ayers has looked good the times he has been on the field

I highly doubt Fowlkes ever sees the field, just never saw anything from him to make you think he can contribute.

If Ayres can gain weight then he can contribute at DT.

Fowlkes is a guy who just doesn't seem to fit anywhere.

Clark was a project all along. Could be a contributor later in his career.

Fowlkes is about 260 lbs now. They are working on him to gain weight so he can slid inside to DT (to get him some PT). He wont be at TE anytime soon.

Ayers has good technique, Maybe a factor if he gains 25+ and get to 290. Nobody seems to know how strong he is, which is a must at that position. GBO

I think Ayers will be a Nick Reviez type, he will work his butt off in the weight room, gain some weight, and be a serviceable 10-20 snap guy who gives it all on everydown. Probably limited athletically but will work hard enough to be a good backup.

IYAM the main reason why Ayres is contributing is heart and CCS

if he gets the size and strength he could be a starter

Pagan can have a seat on the bench right next to Arthur Jeffery, and they can share stories about how good they were before their injuries, and what could have been...

Both of them on the bench are still more talented than Cody Robinson.

Is still much better than what never was.

I don't mind trashing a fellow poster but why trash a kid that his dream is to play in orange and white?I am from Warren Co. and think we are better off letting him go to Duke but still dont think we should trash him.

It wasn't so much an attack on the player as it was the poster in question. It was more a sarcastic jest at how his comments suggest that every Tennessee high school player is worth a scholarship, regardless of actual ability compared to other prospects.

No disrespect meant to the kid.
