You absolutely keep your offer extended to him. This is an injury that can be overcome and he could still be a fine football payer at the next level.

after whats happening at auburn, i dont think we need any of these around. but in all seriousness i hope he has a speedy recovery!

I hate hearing this. I tore mine a few months ago and it freaking sucks. Hope this kid's alright.

Yeah the local newspaper is reporting a torn ACL right now. I will see what I can find out tonite. I am playing cards with one of his HS coaches. Even if it is the ACL he will be back for preseason in August and be good to go.

Well Arthur Jeffrey still hasn't completely recovered from his ACL tear. Seems like a definite redshirt

I saw on another site where some UF fans are saying its his MCL and PCL.....that is a much much better diagnosis if that is the case. Probably would not have much impact on his ability to play next year.

The report on the local newspaper's web site today confirms the MCL and PCL tears.

Much better than an ACL tear, but an MCL can be a niggling injury that is not easy to rehab. Know two guys that tore their MCLs and still have somewhat more of a fragile knee than originally.

i think might help us land him... get chuck smith and our strength coach in his living room and we will snag him. i bet alot of schools are going to back off and if we show him alot of love he might decommit from forida and come here close to home..

had to google. good word. will use in a sentence seven times in the next couple days so that I can remember it.

The course of action will be interesting with this injury.

The MCL is of little concern in this case. Immobilize it for 3-6 weeks depending on the severity and use the rehab to get back to normal.

The PCL is tricky. Hopefully for JP, it is not a full tear. If it's not, the course of treatment above will likely do the trick. If it is a complete tear, then there are decisions to be made. It is not the easiest of ligaments to fix and does not always hold up over time, therefore there is a debate amongst ortho's on whether or not surgery is the best option.

The PCL can be the worse of the three depending on the tear and how bad it is. If the MCL is also torn they will probably have to do surgery to repair both. This what to Shawn Merriman in the NFL when he missed the entire 08 season for the same injury. My understanding the grade of the tear has not been decided yet but it looks like surgery might happen. If it does and goes well he should be able to report to fall camp next year and be ready to play.

For what it is worth UF has already contacted him and assured him his scholly was still there.

The MCL rarely requires surgery. If they go in to fix the PCL, they might clean up around the MCL, but typically they let the MCL heal itself. If the PCL is not completely torn, I doubt they do surgery.

He has 2 completely torn ligaments, will have surgery in the coming weeks. I live in Asheville and thats whats been on the news.

Wonder if this will make other teams go cold on him? Including us, or do we take a risk and still go after him?

I tore my PCL(complete) in the first game, on my second carry, of my Junior season. Refused surgery, thinking hard work in rehab would get me back that season... Never really played again after that. Sad part is, I was pretty damned good.

Memories. :cray:

I wish Pagan a speedy recovery.

Lmao. Now that I think about it, it does indeed sound like a fabricated story. It's true though.

Game against Center High School. Cut back on a toss and dude hit me in the knee. I tried to hop up and walk it off thinking it was just a stinger, but when I realized I couldn't put any pressure on it I fell. Team trainer checked me knee and told me he thought I tore something. I cried. :cray:

Went to Children's Mercy that night, they put me in this brace like thing that spanned the length of my leg. Hated that thing. Had to walk with crutches for like two weeks. Had an MRI a few days later, and sure enough, torn PCL. They ordered me two custom knee braces and a started rehab soon after.

Let me stop though, nobody cares about my story and wont believe it anyway. :salute:

It's not that nobody believes the story about the knee injury.

It was the "Sad part is, I was pretty damned good" line.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't Rivals 100, future NFL talent good. But I could have played for a D1-aa squad. I did talk to Ron Prince a few times, but I don't think he would've offered a scholarship.
