That's the reason why I said Chuck will turn into a stud coach and recruiter since he just got his feet wet in the recruiting game. He just needs some time.
Yep yep. CCS will be a beast recruiter before its all said & done.

Even with UA recruiting him I think UT is the team to beat for this kid if CDD really wants him. Alot of UT fans over here and especially with his HS and coach. Plus players from that school seem to go to UT more than other SEC schools.

He is going to UF and UA during his spring break in 2 weeks. But again UT has the edge here.

The article says he is also trying to improve on his 1410 SAT score. At least the kid recognizes he has work to do in the classroom as well, that's a nice change.

If that's on the new SAT scale (out of 2400) then he does have some work to do.

Not really. I made a 1660 on my best try and got into GT. That's not much of a difference. He would be accepted into UT with that

UT needs to continue to own WNC. There aren't that many recruits but the ones who've come from there have been special: Pickens, Bryson, Shuler, Little, Crompton, Jimmy Streater,... The misses have been pretty good too Eric and Stevie Streater, Brad Johnson, and Sam Gash.

I agree WNC should stay vol country.

Don't forget Craig King he was good one to.

So I guess I need to go to the Asheville HS games this fall wearing Bama gear to convince him. LOL.

As I said earlier this has always been a good place for UT. Most kids out of here that want to play in the SEC always seem to think of UT first. I also agree how clse the two cities are when I40 is open makes a huge deal for them.

Another name to throw out there is Micky Marvin.

Yes and I still see Micky around. He does all the scouting for the Raiders in the southeast. The only negative about him for UT fans is that his son went to UF.

I never met Marvin. I met or knew personally most of the rest. I've lived away for many years now. My brother played against Pickens. I played against Eric Streater many moons ago.

jeoffrey pagan becomes third 2011 commitment for florida

defensive lineman jeoffrey pagan (asheville, n.c.) pledged to sign as part of florida's class of 2011 saturday, espn affiliate web site gatorcountry.com reports.

"this is awesome, it's perfect," pagan said of his experience in gainesville this weekend.

The espnu 150 watch list talent is one of the country's most coveted prospects. Alabama, florida state, georgia, lsu, notre dame, ohio state, tennessee and usc have offered.

Pagan's other offers include clemson, duke, georgia tech, kentucky, north carolina, n.c. State, south carolina, texas a&m, texas tech, virginia tech and wake forest.

Last fall, the 6-foot-3, 260-pounder recorded 54 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks and two interceptions.

Pagan is florida's third commitment for 2011, all from the espnu 150 watch list. Under armour all-american a.c. Leonard (interlachen, fla.) and de'ante saunders (deland, fla.) were already on board.

long ways to go until signing day...everyone is taking a wait and see approach with our squad...a lot of perception can change if our defense comes out strong like it can...alot of these kids in south don't know much about Wilcox..YET

The Gators are now starting to be like texas and USC in recruiting. They get to just pick and choose who they want. Hopefully we get someone to commit soon who is respectable. It would help with recruiting other talented kids. Jac Smith was the man that took the leap with UT last year. We just need someone of his caliber this year to do the same!

Another one for the good guys.

Still love Kiffin?

Just like all the others they have goten, but still didn't help last year in the SECCG. Maybe if UF has a bad season Meyer can fake another heart attack or conjure some other health problems that causes him to be out coached and out played.
