'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

Nutt has no recruiting "Magic" he has pretty well been known as an awful recruiter everywhere he has been.

Come on man. They are sitting 14th in the country right now with recruiting compared to us at 22nd according to rivals. Yes Chris Vaughn, Tyrone Nix, Kim Dameron and Mike Markuson are his main recruiters and he just closes on guys when needed and sells the university on official visits like most other head coaches in the country. Houston Nutt is a very good coach. He has that charisma and energy you look for in every coach that kids gravitate towards and I respect him a great deal. How do i Know before all you ask? I played for him at Murray State University in Kentucky from 94-96 before he left for Boise State then Arkansas a year later.

Now, Just because I played for him/respect him as a coach doesn't mean that he isn't in trouble when he plays Tennessee. I then respectfully hope we/UT steps in that arse!! I'm just trying to correct those that post random quotes on here without really knowing the facts.

Ole Miss is sitting at 14th because they have 5 more commits than UT does. Both teams have the same number of 4 stars and their average star rating is the same at 3.21. When Nutt was in Arkansas, he did not have in-state competition for the in-state talent. Now, he does. While I do not think he is a bad coach, I'm not sold on Nutt as a recruiter.

I don't see why he would be a take. If you miss on Moore, use the spot on somewhere else. I just don't get it.

"Visit with Lanier went great, he may pull the trigger any day now." JB

Depends on the Loften situation. If Loften isn't 1000% officially in school by next Wednesday, I bet that Lanier will "pull the trigger" next week. If Loften gets in, coaches might not let him pull the trigger if they feel good about where they stand with Moore.

Completely agree. Looking good for Moore and he is higher on the board IMO.

I think it might be because Loften...once again...isn't looking very good for us....

Lanier could probably contribute faster than any other DB on our board besides Moore

It was said on TOS that Ole Miss already has 25 commits including several DB's and they don't really have room for him. TIFWIW...
