'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

Sure seems like Strong is adding some talent upgrades to UL. May be fun to watch them in the Big East for the next few years. Maybe the Big East can actually field a BCS worthy team sometime soon.

he's still on the board, but frankly I believe he lost some, a little, of his appeal to the staff when he couldn't be a mid-term guy. These coaches are looking for players who can get here and help right away, and to give up a scholarship with the roster and depth situation for a two-year guy who can't get here as quickly as desired, when they have other four-year, prep guys on the table, doesn't make as much sense. Not saying he isn't a take, but his delay has opened up doors for others to get additional looks from this staff.

That is true though. Why would we want to waste a scholarship with our depth and needs on a player who will only be here for two years who might not get the system or schemes down in enough time to really do anything.

Agreed. Moore, Marcus, and Orta are the 3 DB's we need to be focusing on. Although its probably a longshot Robenson Therezie is a possibility too.

samething that happened with Aubbie. Going to end up at Ole Miss when he could have been at UT or Fla.

Houston Nutt working his magic. He must have some fairy dust or something to spread over these kids' eyes or something. I can't fathom choosing Ole Miss over UT or (I can't believe I'm saying this) the Gators.

Lanier's JUCO coach has a lot to do with him choosing Ole Miss, IMO. I think us being in such good position with Moore has us focused elsewhere.

You're probably right, but I still choose to envision Huston Nutt in a tutu spreading his fairy dust because the thought makes me laugh.

If he ends up at Ole Miss it is basically because everyone else backed off or at least cooled on him.

Quick question, can he still be a three year guy even if he enrolled this summer?

Nutt has no recruiting "Magic" he has pretty well been known as an awful recruiter everywhere he has been.

Yes, but he's a much less attractive prospect since he's not a mid-termer. Also, makes you wonder if his grades are in order. Whenever you see Ole Miss mentioned with a highly rated recruit you can bet there are either grade issues or character issues with the kid.
