'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

This might of been posted earlier in thread, but I didn't want to read the whole thing, but? If Lanier is all that, why did Auburn not re recruit him? Is good as he sounds in this thread, I would think they would be all over this guy. Does anyone know the story?

There were rumors that he had issues with school, that his grades weren't in order. Also there are rumors that they feel good about Therezie, and that is why they cooled on lanier. Hope that answers your question.

They did. He was Auburn's first commit of this class. They asked him to look around because they have limited room for DB's and are saving spots for Florence and either Roberson or Therezie.

My basic is in Great Lakes, Ill. then my "A" school is in Meridian, Ms.

Meridian, Ms? is that base still open? Had a ex-girlfriend who went to A school and got station there....sh$t whole. Thanks for your service(Vol Nation also) and God Speed, my friend.

Thanks for getting back. I still don't see where a high school kid would be a better bet than Lanier? It sounds like Auburn is not sold on his talent, you would think if he was that good they would stick with him since he still has 3 years to play. Something bothers me on this one. Like I said I hope he is as good as everyone says he is. Also if it is his grades, are we going to through will he play or won't he play scernario? I want some one that can go this Spring.

Ole Miss, Arkansas, & Florida all wanted this kid. He has the talent & size to be a good SEC CB. He has no grade concerns, thats why he picked up offers from those 3 schools in the past 3 weeks. He will graduate from JC in a week & enroll into a school in Jan.

It has nothing to do with talent...its all about the shape you are in at certain spots. We need immediate help, so a more mature player who can come in and play now is what we are after. Auburn is not in bad shape at DB so they can go the more traditional and desireable route of getting a younger guy in high school, evaluate him, groom him and have him ready when upper classmen leave.

Aubbie backed off after things picked up with Therezie but the main reason was the uncertainty about him enrolling in Jan.

He really liked the breakfast buffet. said the biscuit was a bit dry but he drowned it in gravy...

Eggs to order was a nice touch...

complained about the toilet seats being too cold. a bigger fan of the porcelain tho

...

FTR, Ole Miss took a commitment today from Floyd Raven. Looks like Lanier will be a Vol for sure at this point. He's only got a few more days to make it public.

not saying that it's not possible but they are going to lose Holliman and his teammate to open up two more DB spots.

Yes from everything I know Lanier should be able to enroll in Jan.

& HG, yea the Meridian base is still open, my recruiter is actually from there & he told me their is absolutely nothing in Meridian. Glad I'm only going to be there for 4 weeks.
