'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

I'm thinking Coach Joseph is going to visit him on Thursday. Hoping it works out in our favor.

That's a double edge sword...sometimes if it wasn't for the coaches these kids would be wavering all over the place.

Will visit UT this weekend and try a midweek for UF the following week...said he's not going to sign LOI until after his three scheduled OVs.

You snooze, you lose. :)

I absolutely agree. Everyone loved Tom Smith's coach for telling all the other schools that Tom was done talking but no one likes Lanier's coach for making him stick to his OVs.

HG what is UF's DB board looking like? I've heard they're pushing hard for Gorman and now they're jumping in on Lanier. That would give them 7 DB's in this class unless Purifoy ends up on the other side of the ball or they drop someone (maybe Johnson?). Is the staff really wanting/needing/willing to take that many guys, when you throw in they still have 5 from last year's class?

Purifoy/Waisome will play corner but both are at least a yr from starting. Hill and JJ are most likely gone...we lost Dowling at FS so Shaw/Evan will enter the spring at the two deep. At corner that leaves Brown, Riggs,Watkins and M Jenkins(better fit at FS). A FS/CB are needed after losing Dowling and Shaw moving from CB.

Well, don't think we have to worry about him visiting Florida. They won't have a coach by the time he has to sign.

The timing couldn't have been better for Meyer to step down with Lanier having a short period to decide where he wants to go.
