'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

lanier getting pressure from florida to take his visit this weekend like he set up. The head coach at east mississippi is old school and thinks if someone schedules a visit that he shouldn't change that because he missed his flight to another one. I spoke to a couple of people i know in scooba. We shall see how it works out.

I smell me some negative recruiting going on...

edit: not on our part..

Why would we not? Urban's menopause driven fickle crap should begin every conversation with a mutual recruit.

Good point but Urban's 'crap' needs very little extra light put upon it. You don't have to be sharpest tool in the shed to see what's going on down there..

His coach needs to butt the heck out of his business...this is Lanier's future at stake here not his...he should give advice but to insist on something that could alter Lanier's future in order to preserve his own standards is overstepping big time

Urban will probably tell him that God causes him to miss his flight because he's destined to be a Gator.

This would sound absolutely ridiculous if it wasn't absolutely possible...

It sounds like to me his coach doesn't want to step on Urban Cryer's toes and ruin any connect he might have going here. If he tells Lanier to skip his visit and just go ahead and go to UT, Urban will be pissed and it could ruin any future players, his rep, etc in the future. BS IMO. Lanier is ours.

On TOS, Hubbs just posted that Lanier wants to come to Tennessee this weekend but he is getting pressure to go to Florida. I assume that the pressure to visit the Gators is coming from both his coach and Florida. Lanier told Hubbs again that UT is his leader, whether he makes it in this weekend or not -- no mention of Ole Miss at all.

He also said that if he goes to Florida this weekend, he would try to do a mid-week visit to Knoxville, but is not sure he can make that happen.

This one is really weird. I can't help but think that if we get him in here, he is all Vol, but if he goes down to visit Florida, anything can happen and most of those possibilities are not good.

Can you imagine if Urban scumbag Cryer was ever so much as accused of dirty recruiting? It would be a media firestorm that far outweighs Chizik, Auburn, and Newton, IMO.

Hopefully, this will have a negative affect and push him more our way. I know if I wanted to visit somewhere else but was told that I had to go to a different school against my will, then I probably wouldn't enjoy the visit. It would make me dislike it even more.

Someone should call his mother and offer her $$$ while he is at school, just make sure she does not tell him... oh wait

"i am going to try to visit tennessee this weekend," lanier said. "but it's not definite yet. The thing is florida has set up this weekend for me to come up there. So i don't know where i'm going to visit yet."

"tennessee is at top," lanier said. "i was just going to florida to see what they have. I am going to decide where i'm going to visit on thursday. I have to make a decision by then so that the school i am going to visit can get everything set up."

I completely agree, and hope that is what happens

These are the types of recruiting battles that we need to win to start competing for the east again. Head to head against Fla, whom will he choose...
