'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

So we're his last visit and a week before JUCO signing day, I like our chances.

I remember that time last year. A lot of people on here were saying he wasnt a ProStyle QB, undisciplined, trouble, couldn't read defenses etc. I was on his band wagon and was in the minority that wanted him here. We blew it and hindsight is 20/20. I think he would've given us a few more wins also. It's all about moving the chains and putting points on the board. He's showed he cam do both this season.

With respect, I'll take the way it worked out, I think. I agree that we coulda won a couple more with Cam and been a little better this year, but we obviously would have still been just as thin everywhere else. And Bray would have been on the sideline. So, we'd be going into 2011 with a completely green QB instead of a guy who has about six or seven games under his belt. (Forgone conclusion to me that Newton is and would have been NFL bound next year. Only way he wouldn't have gone is if he hadn't had much impact at UT). And I think we would certainly not have benefited from all of the pay for play scandal.

I can see and respect preferring the other option. I'm just more focused on the long term and a completely rebuilt UT team and think that having Bray on the field earlier is likely to benefit us more next year and in '12 than Cam woulda this year. Obviously, none of this could've been predicted last year. Had we missed a bowl, I might well view it differently.

Ha, I usually don't make predictions, but this guy is going to be a Vol. Cancelling his trip to UF for UT is great. Arkansas visit doubtful; Noe it's just us and Ole Miss. I like, actually love, our chances.

I agree with this and could not have come close to saying it any better...

jmoore you need to stop overreacting so much (in the negative). You did with Marcus Jackson the other day when it was said he wouldn't visit, and you did with Lanier. I know you're young, but you're going to be an old man if you're hanging on all the rumors and jumping to conclusions because a lot of things go on with high school kids.

Edit: Wasn't being disrespectful, just words of wisdom :)

Not 22, I have just never put my real age on any site for some reason. I'm 29, but I guess the same still holds true. I think I saw JMoore say he was around 18 or 19?

JMo does great no need for the coaching.

29's better. I thought you were about my age and doing that.

where did I say he didn't? JMo brings us great info, however I don't want him having gray hairs before he's 25 lol. Me and JMo agree pretty much on everything when it comes to recruiting. I appreciate all JMo does.

Lol I know, I was having a bad day to begin with because I thought my Sox werent going to get the Adrian Gonzalez deal done so I've been negative all day. I overreact alot, it's one of my many flaws.

But I'm the same age as you so were both still young, got alot of life to live (hopefully) :)

Edit: well thought we were the same age, just notice you said you were 29, I'm 22. Close enough Lol.

haha so true. BTW, is the deal officially dead now or is there some hopes of life?

The trade went through, they have the parameters of the deal together but nothing will be finalized until after opening day so that they dont have to pay the luxury tax. I've been wanting Gonzalez on the Sox for 3 years now. Today has been a great day, 1st Gonzalez comes to Boston, then I find out Jackson & Paul are going to be Vols, & last I find out Lanier cancelled his visit to UF to come to UT (which means he is a Vol) :):loco:
