'11 KY LB Lamar Dawson (USC)

+ lots of pressure from his family and hometown. If we can flip grandma, it's a done deal. IMO

Agreed. Dooley gets his first shot at grandma and family on his in-home visit to the Dawson's this week. He will sell UT as a family and the VFL program to the grandmother. We should be able to know how well the in-home visit went this weekend. If Dawson brings his grandmother (like expected) to his official visit to UT this weekend then I think it will be a done deal. That would make me think he is showing someone very important in his life (grandmother) where he is going to spend the next 3-4 years of his life.

I believe we have a bright future with this level of mythotical recruiting. Regardless of what Rivals ranking we end up with, Dooley and Co. are plugging holes with some great talent (no homo). I like our chances with Dawson.

i hope it went great! i thought cdd would be with jernigan tonight and dawson thurs. see, im wrong alot. esp with dooley, hes sneaky.

No one is perfect. I know that you still have a better percentage than anyone else on VN. Hopefully CDD will be at the Jernigan's tomorrow night.

Dooley is impressing and he is sneaky
The fact that he can move around with no one knowing, as well as with the other coaches, is impressive--very little escapes from the boardroom
Hope we get Dawson and avoid a Micah Johnson

Dawson = silent commit. CDD's visit w/ family and grandma-ma = seals the deal. VOL.

Skeeter let 'er rip...

Not Skeeter, of course, but I do not think Dawson is a silent by any means. I do, however, that he has told us who it is that he strongly favors, and that is Tennessee. Skeeter reported that Dawson said that he wanted to be close to home, but not too close. I take that to mean that while Tennessee is close to home, Ky is too close, and I think the driving thought behind his reasoning is that while he wants to be near his family and within easy traveling distance so that family and friends can come to see him play, he wants to be far enough away to begin to live his life as an adult, and be able to exercise some self authority over his life.

If that is the case, and I am convinced that it is, then Dooley and the staff does not have to convince Grandma to dress in Orange and tote pompoms for UT -- all we have to do is to make UT an acceptable option in Grandma's mind, a much lower bar to clear.

I continue to believe that Dawson will be a Vol on NSD.
