'11 KY LB Lamar Dawson (USC)

All he is saying is there is a chance that he stays home but that he has heard he wants to leave the state.

Which coincides with what Skeeter said earlier that Lance Thompson informed him.

Oh great. Here comes another meltdown and UT fans overreacting.

I wasn't overreacting nor was there any meltdown. I was posting information from Brent Hubbs who knows his stuff. Most people on VN like to know information like that.

A meltdown that he "may" go to Kentucky? I don't think that's anything new. It's been a concern from the beginning that he may stay home.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but this sounds more like a positive for us than a negative.

I agree. I think what BH was saying is that "Sure, there's a chance Dawson could stay home and play at Kentucky, but everything I've heard from UT coaches and others in the know is that he's most likely a Vol." IMO

if Mccain visits officially, that is not a good sign imo.**in regards to moore**

I think of McCain is a pure cornerback due to smaller size and have never even heard us mention being interested in him before. Why do you think a visit from him (coming with his teammate, Carson) would bode ill for our outlook for Moore, whom we are recruiting as a safety??

Not doubting you, just curious.

Moore is down to us or Miami with Miami getting the last shot. Moore has already had his visit here, but has not visited Miami yet -- he just met Golden for the first time. Before ever meeting Golden or visiting Miami, Moore has said he has pretty much already made up his mind, which gives me some confidence he will select us.

Also, my thinking is that if we miss on Moore, we will take either Orta or Loften rather than looking at someone new like McCain.

I agree with you that Dawson will be a Vol, and I believe we will get Wright also, although I have said since the summer that two recruits that will not be totally settled before NSD are Wright and Lateek Townsend.

Mccain is definitely a fall back option. I'm actually surprised they are bringing him in.

Rex posted this little gem over on the vols 247 board it's from a Kentucky poster about dawson. And do they ever seem convinced he's theres.

"I can guarantee, unless something very shady happens on his UT visit, that he will NOT be going to UT. I am close with him, family and friends and he has not once in private conversations even mentioned UT as a possibility. I don't care what their staff writers or insiders say they have ZERO sources on this if they think they are getting him. It will be between UK and Oregon. About a week ago I was convinced UK all the way but Oregon is still very much in it but in the end myself and many of his closest friends believe it will be UK over Oregon. He did really enjoy hsi visit to USC but the distance will be a factor. I'm also not wearing the blue goggles because before I have said if Meyer wouldn't have resigned he would be going to Florida. They are starting to make up some more ground though and he has like what he has heard from Muschamp but it will end up being too little too late. Again, and I hope UT fans are reading this, UT is not a serious option not matter what they think

lol @ USC distance being a factor but Oregon being a finalist. Hey there champ, Oregon is just as far as USC. UK football fans are too entertaining. Florida making up ground? He canceled his visit there.

I hope we get Dawson, and I by no means think he's a vol lock, but that is just ridiculous. UT not a serious option? We have his last visit. Wake up.

the best thing about it is if he does end up being a Vol on NSD---here comes all the "did something shady happen on his visit talk". Kentucky shouldn't even be talking about football during bball season anyway.

Shocking that he wouldn't want to tell the inbred morons that live around him that he wanted to leave the state to play for Kentucky's hated rival.

Very good point. KY fans would probably try to catch his house on fire and his teachers would probably fail him in class if he even started to hint at being interested in the Vols.

Ok maybe not catch his house on fire, but they would not be pleasant to him or his family.

Oh, that's a good one. He should open for Ralphie May's stand-up act.

I'm reading it....and this fella may be right. I've seen it all once before. But I don't see why anybody would want to play football in the state of Kentucky.
