“Coach Thompson made a stop by the school,” Dawson told InsideTennessee.com Monday evening. “He is recruiting me hard; he spent some time visiting with my high school coaching staff.”
Dawson is also familiar with the Tennessee campus; he took an unofficial visit to Knoxville in June to check things out.
“I liked it a lot,” Dawson said. “I really liked all the new coaches; they seem really down to earth and easy to talk to.”
What sort of level of competition is this guy facing?
He plays in a 4A class level, which is about mid sized KY schools. Boyle County is a good school itself but most of the competition isn't that great. They do play Lexington-area schools but not the best schools from the area. UK has had some pretty successful players from BC so it's not like he's one of the first from the school, it does seem to translate to SEC caliber players.
