Williams named UNC, Ole Miss, & Oklahoma State as his top 3. He visited UNC this past weekend & will take visits to Ole Miss & Oklahoma State in December. He is an EE also.

USC & UGA have offered Williams :cray:

He said he has high interest in USC, will give them a visit. He loves how they put DTs into the league.

Williams has a 3.2 GPA & will be an EE. He wants early PT & has 2 years to play.

I really really wish Tennessee would have offered & went after Williams to go along with Couch. We could have had a great DT rotation, I've been high on this kid ever since I saw the write up from Rivals on him.

I dont think Sylvester is as good as Sheldon, Sheldon is a BEAST. But I do think Sylvester could have really helped out our DT situation.

Hubbs said a staff member evaluated Williams in person & decided they would not pursue him, this is really the first time I have disagreed with the staff but thats why they get paid to do it & I dont.

Yeah... The easy part is measuring the physical. When you start lookin' inside their heads it gets a little more complicated. Some of them might be Nobel prize material but some are future Jeffrey Dahmers. We just need some DTs... LOL

ya, football is more than physical attributes. for example, my brother is natually a physical beast. He can beat me in anything that is just raw physical sports. If we both had a rivals page (lol) you would think he was 5* and I was no star. BUT, any sport requiring coordination I win hands down. So, just because someone looks good on paper doesn't mean that they're good.

It's real hard for us to determine who actually is good based on physical attributes and a 10 minutes youtube highlight film.

Talking about his USC offer:

"USC just offered me last week, but I had a feeling they would be on me," said Williams. "I've been talking with coach Willie Mack Garza a lot, and he said he loved my size and my athletic ability. They like me at three-technique because I can make plays."

"We were keeping in touch," said Williams. "I've been talking to a few schools, so I don't have a final three or a list of schools I've narrowed it to. USC was one of those schools I was waiting on, so now with the offer, they're definitely in the mix.

Really wish the staff would have offered & pursued here, at one point Williams said if he got a UT offer he would visit & have us atop his list.

He was one of my favorite recruits last class that didnt sign :cray:

I read in one of the preseason mags that he had a monster spring. Seems like our staff made a big mistake here. How much better would our DT situation look with him here?! Should have dropped Saulsberry (don't think he will ever do much) and jumped on this guy! :cray:
