Can't forget P.Waggner IMO. Tied for the lead on the team with 5 picks. Took 3 to the house. However if we land Moore, I think PWagg will be fighting for a spot in the starting secondary.

Always a good problem to have. Something we haven't been familiar with in recent years.

Doesn't need to tackle if he is snatching the ball out of the air and taking it to the house. We got 10 other guys out there for tackling.

Exactly. IF we get Moore we will have depth and flexibility in the secondary we haven't had in awhile. We will have a sick rotation of Janzen, Brewer, Moore, Waggner, Lanier, Teague, Gordon, etc. Let the best men win the starting positions.

Another thing you have to consider is we will be using 5 DBs alot in Wilcox's defense. I know Wilcox has mentioned our lack of depth in the secondary as hurting us big time next year. IMO we will see much more nickel and dime packages in our defense this year. If we get Moore our secondary can do many things.

Safeties: Moore and Brewer
Corners: Janzen and Teague
Nickel Backs: Waggner, Gordon, Lanier.

Even though they might not start, the 5th or 6th DB will get to see the field alot this year.

Like sspineda mentioned, it's a great problem to have.

it's definitely a position with frequent substitution.

It only takes one guy's missed tackle to lose you the game. It only takes one missed tackle to change the momentum of a game. Ask former Cal CB Syd'Quan Thompson. Robert Meachem turned two short hitch routes into two long TD catches after getting past Thompson. The game was over early and Cal's energy was completely drained because of this.

I know what you mean about Waggner and he is a playmaker with the ball in his hands, but unless he learns to properly tackle I don't see him fending off Teague/Gordon, etc. at CB. Tackling is a must in the game of football. You block and tackle well, you usually have a much better chance to win.

Since it seems to be something we are good at maybe we could put 11 guys out there to tackle and P-Wag to make plays.

What's up MC! We know you read Volnation :)

I hope Maurice doesn't accidently kill someone in practice this year. Save it for the game! Seriously ... alot of people better get used to hearing the name Maurice Couch. He is a difference maker from day one. We have some great players coming to Tennessee , but this guy is by far my favorite recruit this year.
