Top 5 NFL pipelines?? USC (the real USC), Miami, Pittsburgh, Florida State, and Tennessee. ESPN did the numbers in May. 6 SEC schools in the top 25 NFL pipelines... USCjr wasn't one of them:

The Hurricanes, who produced an NFL first-round pick every year from 1994 to 2008 and had a whopping 19 first-rounders from 2001 to 2004, finished second in the survey with 164 points. Among Miami's most prominent NFL alumni: Ray Lewis (a 10-time Pro Bowler), Warren Sapp (seven Pro Bowls) and Cortez Kennedy (eight Pro Bowls).

Pittsburgh was a major NFL pipeline during the early 1980s, when it produced future Pro Football Hall of Famers such as Dan Marino, Russ Grimm and Rickey Jackson. The Panthers, who include more recent NFL stars Larry Fitzgerald and Darrelle Revis among their alumni, finished third in the survey with 120 points.

Florida State finished fourth with 107 points and Tennessee was fifth with 83.

The Volunteers were one of six SEC schools to finish in the top 25 of the survey results. Georgia was No. 8, Florida was No. 12, Alabama was No. 18, Auburn was No. 21 and LSU was No. 22.

Then there's always this:

What follows is the list of the 10 winningest programs in the history of the game, ranked by total wins. The list is current through the end of the 2009 season.

1. Michigan: 877-304-38
2. Texas: 845-321-34
3. Notre Dame: 837-291-42
4. Nebraska: 827-341-41
5. Ohio State: 819-308-53
6. Alabama: 813-316-43
7. Penn State 812-351-43
8. Oklahoma: 796-305-53
9. Tennessee: 783-333-55
10. USC: 774-307-54

I mean, it's whatever... Maurice......

If anyone watched the UT/Memphis game on CBSC, you would notice that Mike Leach was commentating the game. Almost the entire game, the fact that UT was a "rebuilding program" was a topic of discussion. Mike Leach was praising the football tradition at UT. He said repeatedly that we are one of the best football programs in the nation, and we would soon be back on top.

Moral of the story is that its nice to hear from a seasoned coach that he realizes the tradition and prestige of the UT program. Every program has its ups and downs. Unfortunately, there are a lot of aspects of a program that are changed each time a new head coach steps in.

MauriceCouch90: Head out to Tennessee this weekend, I can't wait.

This guy is the lynch-pin for the remainder of our class. IMO, he is our most important get in terms of need. Arnett will hopefully be a great recruit, but in terms of depth and need, it's no contest who we need more.

Yeah. Lost in the hype over Arnett, we're overlooking the fact that the D-Line needs some serious help. Like "emergency" help. This will be a big snag.

Man I hope we pull him in, he really seems to be a plug and play type guy at a position we need the most.

.

The bad news is that Leach was wasted while broadcasting that game. Through out the broadcast he slured, forgot players names, or even just made up names. Also, at the end of the game, when they were doing their final wrap up he could barely stand up. It was a masterful performace and very funny to watch and listen to.

the spread at UT? he** to the no.

Get used to it. That's what we're going to be when our OL gives the QB more protection. Not a UF type spread but TE's and WR's will be our focal point with RB's in pass protection as well as dump off's and screens with a few run plays thrown in. Much like this year.

I'm fine with 4 or 5 wide looks as long as we still conventionally run the ball. The spread paired with a good defense makes for a very good team. Imagine if Oregon had an SEC caliber defense...

This is exactly what I'm hoping/thinking could happen with us. We're talking scary good.

However, with the playmakers we're going after at RB such as Young and the likes of Bellamy, etc along with this type of offense gets me really excited as well.

MauriceCouch90: Just got off the phone with the dline coach from UF and he basically said they want me. Also he want me to visit in Dec or Jan

Why go to UF with those guys they got at DT??

I hope Couch understands what he could mean to our DT rotation. I would put him with Malik Jackson with Hughes and Walls in next.

C'MON COACH CHUCK!!!
