'11 HI OL Paulay Asiata

FYI- Paulay had his 2nd pre-season game last night- and they were victorious again- 42-3...this week he was at left guard for most of the game and played a little bit at right tackle too...

Thanks TNgirl. Can you tell us how Juda did in that game too? And do you think his commitment to UT is solid? Or is he waiting on a specific school to offer?

Go Vols!

I really like this guy. Hope we can get him. Plus with him and Juda we might be opening a mini pipeline to Hawaii.

He was named to "The Associated Press’ list of the 25 best players in the West who will be part of the 2011 recruiting class".

Does anyone know if one of our coaches contacted Asiata today? This is the first day that coaches can call, so I am hopeful that the staff had him high on our list.

As of today (Sept. 1), right now @ 6:37PM (Hawaii Time) no one from Tennessee has called Paulay...we know they probably have a long list, so we're keeping our fingers crossed...we did get a letter from Terry Joseph (Recruiting Coordinator) stating that after Sept. 1 that the coaches would be able to call...so we're waiting...trying to be patient...and I'm crossing my fingers....

I'll definitely keep you posted...

P.S. Rivals.com interviewed him this past Sunday evening by phone...so there maybe another article about him coming up....

Well, if TJ said they will give him a call... I am sure it will come. The staff has probably called those who they have been on for a long time to make sure they don't lose a foothold there. I am sure he will be getting a call soon enough.

Thanks TN girl -- and thanks for keeping us posted. I am sure I'm not the only one that really wants to see how he does on a visit and if he gets offered or not. My bet would be that we will aggressively want him to join us despite having a solid class of OL already while waiting on Richardson. I believe he is the only OL recruit that we would consider at this point other than Richardson.

Pass along our congratulations to him on being named to the West elite recruits list.

A poster on the other site says our Coaches have called Paulay......thought I would ask our source:D

Hey you guys! Here's the update:

Coach Hiestand called me the other day (Sept. 2) and asked to speak with Paulay, but he was at practice, so we spoke instead. It was a great conversation. I did ask him what the likely hood of Paulay getting an offer for an official visit was, and he said that the likely hood was good, but said that UT was taking their time. He said that they would be a little slower in this process than other colleges because this was coach Dooley's first year and he would want to see more film on Paulay first. (which is understandable for not having seen him play in person)

CH also talked to me about his connection with Johan (my husband's other younger brother) who plays for the Bears in Chicago and that he's spoken with coach Dooley about that too. He told us not to be discouraged and asked me to have Paulay call him after his practice was finished that day. Paulay called, but got CH's voicemail (it was after mid-night TN time).

So, Paulay hasn't officially got to speak with any UT coaches yet, but hopefully they'll call us back soon, after reviewing more of Paulay's film...

Paulay had his first "real season" game this past Saturday- he played right tackle during the game and did awesome- Juda Parker was on fire that night too!!! They won 41-17 against Kamehameha.

Once again, I'll continue to keep you all posted...GBO!

That's awesome news. I was wondering when he would get a call from UT. If coach Hiestand wants him then I hope the young man gets that offer and makes his way to UT.

I'm sure that if CH is impressed with his film then an offer will be handed out, really hope he wants to be a Vol. CH could prepare him for the NFL, it would be a great pull to get Parker & Asiata from Hawaii.

I would think the chances are good he gets an offer when all is said and done. Personally, I think he's a better prospect than a couple of the OL prospects Tennessee already has committed.

Kamehameha like off of dragon ball z when goku uses the kamehameha on people?

Asiata would be a huge get for our OL. I'm not gonna down play the OL we already have committed b/c I think they're going to be solid too especially with CHH's coaching but I really think Paulay would be a solid starter here for 2-3 years.

This young man is going to be a great addition to whatever team he joins, but I sure would love to have him in volunteer orange:)

Haha I would've loved to go to that highschool. I think it's named for King Kamehameha who used British cannons on sleds to unite the Hawaiian islands back in the day
